NCAC winter sports weekly releases for the week ending on Sunday, January 14th, which include up-to-date conference standings, weekly schedules, team notes and Player of the Week selections, are now available online.
While nationally-ranked Wittenberg has built a two-game lead at the top of the North Coast men’s basketball standings, the race below the Tigers is starting to tighten up as just four games in the loss column separate the second-place teams from the eighth-place teams. There are once again 10 league games on the slate this week, led by Wittenberg hosting Ohio Wesleyan on Wednesday night and Wabash traveling to Wooster on Saturday afternoon. Complete Release
Three North Coast women’s basketball squads sit at .500 or better in the conference standings as we approach the midway portion of the league schedule. DePauw (16-1, 8-0) continues to lead the NCAC in large part due to balanced scoring and a defense that has held conference opponents to just 46.9 points per game. Kenyon (14-3, 7-1) currently sits in second and Oberlin (8-6, 6-2) is in third. NCAC play continues this week with four tilts scheduled on Wednesday and three on Saturday. Complete Release

However, numerous squads also had events cancelled or postponed on Saturday due to inclement weather in the Great Lakes region. There are now 11 events on the schedule in the week ahead, highlighted by Denison traveling to The University of Pittsburgh on Friday and Wooster hosting Allegheny and Ohio Wesleyan for a tri-meet on Saturday.
