HIRAM, Ohio -- Ari Ross has been selected to serve as the Director of Sports Information, helping to tell the story of the Hiram College athletics programs.

A native of Ohio, Ross comes to Hiram from Monroe College in Bronx, New York, where he served as the sports information director since July 2018. Prior to his promotion into the role, he served as the assistant sports information director for Monroe. Throughout his tenure, Ross was the primary media contact for the athletic department, in addition to providing oversight of social media, live in-game statistics, web streaming, game notes, statistics, player and coach interviews, and other game-day activities.

Ross earned his Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in 2017. A double major, Ross also earned a degree in economics with a certificate in integrated marketing communications.

In looking for a strong candidate to fill the role, Ross stood out, said Todd Hibbs, Director of Athletics at Hiram College. "Ari's education in related fields is among the best you can get with a degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Considering his experience in broadcasting with additional time already spent as a successful sports information director, Ari was a standout candidate," said Hibbs.

Before assuming his position at Monroe College, Ross worked as a broadcast and media relations assistant for the Sioux Falls Canaries of the American Association in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. During his time as a student, he completed an internship with Sports Illustrated in New York City and was involved with WNUR Sports, NNN Sports, and Studio N at Northwestern University.

"We believe Ari is the right person to take the support and promotion of our student-athletes and their respective programs to the next level," Hibbs added.

Ross will assume his role with the Terriers on September 4.
