North Coast Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week – Nov. 18
Offensive Football Athlete of the Week – Chase Andries, DePauw
DePauw junior quarterback Chase Andries (Pittsboro, IN/Beech Grove) helped lead the Tigers to a 17-13 victory over Wabash in the 126th Monon Bell game. Andries completed 16-of-24 passes for 210 yards and a go-ahead 62-yard touchdown to Gavin Ritter (Plainfield, IN/Plainfield) with 38 seconds remaining in the game.
Defensive Football Athlete of the Week – Kyle McGee, Allegheny
Allegheny senior linebacker Kyle McGee (Manilus, NY/Fayetteville-Manilus) led the team with a career-high 21 tackles, the fifth most in program history, making 12 solo stops and nine assists against Oberlin. He also added two tackles-for-loss, including a sack, totaling 23 yards.
Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week – Jordan Rawls, Allegheny
Allegheny senior Jordan Rawls (Pittsburgh, PA/Taylor Allderdice) led the Gators to a 3-0 record to begin the season, averaging 24.3 points per game, including a 33 point performance in the season opener against Carnegie Mellon. He also hit 60 percent of his shots, including 12-of-18 from behind the three-point line.
Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week – Sydney Kopp, DePauw
DePauw senior Sydney Kopp (Burr RIdge, IL/Hinsdale South) averaged 26.3 points, seven rebounds and two assists across three season-opening victories for the Tigers. In the final game of the Wisconsin-Whitewater Tip-off tournament, Kopp posted 36 points, eight rebounds and five assists in a 70-69 win against the Warhawks. She was named the most-valuable player of the tournament for her performance.
Men's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week – Josh Gluck, Wooster
Wooster’s Josh Gluck (Bay Village, OH/St. Edward) was a bright spot for the Fighting Scots during Saturday’s tri-meet with Mount Union and Thomas More. The junior won both the 100 (53.98) and 200 backstroke (1:58.51) events, while posting runner-up finishes in the 200 IM (2:01.42) and the 200 medley relay (1:40.59). His efforts in the 200 back, 200 IM and 200 medley relay were all season-bests.
Women’s Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week – Maddie Hopkins, Denison
Denison junior Maddie Hopkins (Chico, CA/Chico) posted the Big Red’s top performance with a runner-up finish in the 100 butterfly at Ohio State. Hopkins’ time of 57.36 was a season-best and the top mark in the conference so far this season. The junior was also fifth in the 50 free (24.38), part of the 200 free relay (1:36.81) that logged the third-best time of the night and was a leg of the fifth-place 200 medley relay (1:46.44) squad.
NCAC Milestones & Records (Nov. 11 - Nov. 17)
Denison, Football - Alex Minton (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) rushed for a career-high 255 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries in a win over Kenyon, surpassing Clay Sampson’s single-season school rushing record of 1,517 yards set in 1979 and Eric Ivary’s single-season rushing touchdown mark (17) set in 1966.
