Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week – Ugnius Zilinskas, Kenyon

Junior Ugnius Zilinskas (Kedainiai, Lithuania/Kimball Union Academy) played a huge role in Kenyon’s 69-65 win at DePauw, as he scored a game-high and career-high 34 points, including hitting the go-ahead three-pointer with just 14 seconds left. For the game, he played 35 minutes and shot 75 percent (12-of-16). He also shot 80 percent (8-of-10) at the free throw line, grabbed eight rebounds and had two steals.


Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week – Alison Schafer, Denison

Senior Alison Schafer (Columbia Station, OH/Columbia) posted a career-high 40 points in Denison’s 70-65 victory over Wittenberg on Saturday. Her 40 points were the second-most in school history behind Christi Clay’s 41 points against Wittenberg on Feb. 26, 1994. Her six 3-pointers also tied the Denison single-game record which has been equaled 10 times in program history.

 


 

NCAC Milestones & Records (Nov. 25 - Dec. 1)

Denison, Women’s Basketball - Senior Alison Schafer (Columbia Station, OH/Columbia) posted a career-high 40 points which was also the second-most in school history behind Christi Clay’s 41 points on Feb. 26, 1994. She also tallied six three-pointers, tying the program record. 

DePauw, Women’s Basketball - DePauw women’s basketball set a single-game record with 14 three-pointers made against Illinois Wesleyan, while senior Sydney Kopp (Burr Ridge, IL/Hinsdale South) broke DePauw’s individual single-game record with nine threes in the game.
