Oberlin also lost to Wittenberg by a 1-0 score last week. __________________________________________________________________________ October 21, 2007 Wittenberg freshman goalkeeper Liana Began (Hudson, OH/Hudson) made her fifth and sixth career starts last week and wound up with a pair of 2-1 victories. Against Denison, she made nine saves and in an overtime win over Wooster, she made six more to total 15 saves on the week. __________________________________________________________________________ October 14, 2007 Wittenberg freshman Boo Vernon (Lake Bluff, IL/Cushing Academy) continued to show off her scoring ability, putting away the game-winning goal in the Tigers' overtime decision against Denison. It was her second goal of the game as the Tigers won, 4-3. Wittenberg also lost to Oberlin last week, 1-0. Vernon leads the Tigers with 16 goals and 34 points this season. __________________________________________________________________________ October 7, 2007 Oberlin senior goalkeeper Lauren Malinowski (Wyncote, PA/Cheltenham) accumulated 13 saves in two contests, including 11 and a save on a penalty shot against Denison. The Yeowomen improved to 4-2 in the NCAC with 1-0 victories over Ohio Wesleyan and Denison to leap into second place in the conference standings. __________________________________________________________________________ October 2, 2007 Freshman forward Eileen Barrer (Ann Arbor, MI/Pioneer) scored three goals and added an assist to lead Wooster to a pair of conference victories. She had two in a 4-0 shutout of Denison and one goal and an assist, both on penalty corners, in a 3-1 win over Wittenberg. All of Barrer's 13 points this season have come in the last four games. __________________________________________________________________________ September 23, 2007 Freshman forward Eileen Barrer (Ann Arbor, MI/Pioneer) scored twice and assisted on two other goals to lead Wooster to a pair of victories last week. Wooster edged Oberlin, 3-2, as Barrer scored the game-winner in the second half. In a 4-2 decision over Earlham, she assisted on two goals and scored a third herself. __________________________________________________________________________ September 16, 2007 Freshman Elisabeth Dow (Lake George, NY/Loomis Chaffee) of Kenyon had a goal in each of the Ladies' two victories last week, including the overtime game-winner against Oberlin. Kenyon upped its conference record to 3-0 with a 2-1 overtime victory over Oberlin and a 2-0 defeat of Wooster. The Ladies have won six straight in conference dating back to last season. __________________________________________________________________________ September 9, 2007 Senior defender Diana Boryczewski (Kensington, CT/Kingswood Oxford) converted a penalty stroke for Ohio Wesleyan with 3:30 left in regulation to send the game against Oberlin to overtime and added two defensive saves in the game. The Battling Bishops lived up to their name as they battled back from a 2-0 deficit, only to lose in the extra session, 3-2. Boryczewski then assisted on the game-winner against Wooster, a goal that broke a scoreless tie late in the first half and led OWU to a 2-0 victory. The win snapped the Fighting Scot's 17-game, regular season win streak. __________________________________________________________________________ September 4, 2007 Earlham sophomore Cassie Gage (West Carrolton, OH/Fairmont) scored all three of the Quakers' goals in a 3-1, season-opening defeat of Transylvania. __________________________________________________________________________
