Ohio Wesleyan senior midfielder Ricky Scheetz won 12 of 18 face-offs and picked up eight ground balls against Wittenberg. His face-off win early in fourth quarter set up momentum-changing goal after Wittenberg had closed to within 8-5. The Battling Bishops’ victory lifted them into a tie for the North Coast Athletic Conference championship.

Wooster senior attacker Dan MacVarish scored a career-best five goals, including three in the first quarter, as the Fighting Scots topped Kenyon, 12-6. His five goals came on seven shots.

Wittenberg senior Ted Winders scored four goals in Wittenberg’s 1-1 week. He scored a hat trick in the Tigers’ conference title-clinching win over Wooster, along with one assist and five ground balls.

Ohio Wesleyan senior attacker Rob Young scored three goals and one assist in a 21-11 decision over St. Vincent. In an 18-10 victory over NCAC foe Kenyon, Young scored four goals and assisted on two others. He enters the week with 104 career goals.

April 12

Brady Burton, Denison

Denison senior attack Brady Burton scored a season-high seven goals and added two assists in a 23-9 victory over St. Vincent, then punched in another four in a 19-4 decision over Oberlin. Against the Bearcats, he became the all-time leading scorer for the Big Red, topping a mark that had been held by Andy John since 1984. Burton has 174 career goals, and his nine points in the St. Vincent contest tied a career best.

April 5

Emmett Jones, Denison

Junior Emmett Jones matched his career high with six goals off nine shots, to lead Denison over Ohio Wesleyan, 16-13. Three of his goals came in the pivotal fourth quarter, which saw the Big Red outscore OWU, 5-1, to rally from a 12-11 deficit.

Pat Coyne, Wooster
(Chatham, NJ/Chatham)

Senior midfielder Pat Coyne recorded eight goals and two assists, including a hat trick in the first quarter against St. Vincent. Wooster topped the Bearcats, 16-6, then went on to defeat Denison, 12-11. It was their first victory over the Fighting Scots since 1991.

Kenyon senior midfielder Jordan Zimolka scored three goals in the Lords’ 24-9 loss to eighth-ranked Roanoke, then added two more in an 11-9 victory over Adrian.

March 15

Dylan Holmes, Oberlin
(Seattle, WA/Lakeside)

Oberlin sophomore Dylan Holmes scored three times including the game-winner to give the Yeomen their first season-opening victory in a decade. Oberlin topped Shenandoah, 7-5, as Holmes also scooped up a game-high 10 ground balls and won 7 of 12 faceoffs.
