___________________________________________________________________________ May 5, 2008 Denison sophomore attack Brady Burton (Dublin, OH/Jerome) scored eight goals and assisted on one more as the Big Red claimed their 10th North Coast Athletic Conference title. The Big Red won the showdown in the regular season finale against Ohio Wesleyan, 16-12, and will meet Widener in the first round of the NCAA III tournament on Wednesday. Burton has 48 goals this season and is five goals short of his 100th in just two seasons of collegiate lacrosse. ___________________________________________________________________________ April 28, 2008 In his first start of the season, Wittenberg senior Andy Shively (Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) made seven fourth-quarter saves and totaled 14 in his team's 11-10 defeat of Wooster. Three of those saves came in the final minute as the Tigers were fending off a power play. Wittenberg notched the game-winning score with 5:22 left in regulation and were able to hold off the Fighting Scots. ___________________________________________________________________________ April 21, 2008 Kenyon goalkeeper David Page (West Chester, PA/St. Andrew's, DE) made 13 saves in the Lords' 13-11 defeat of Ohio Wesleyan. The teams were tied at 8 entering the fourth quarter, and Page made five spectacular saves to lift Kenyon to its first victory over the Battling Bishops since the 2000 season. The Lords, who are 9-1 overall, 2-0 in the NCAC, stand 19th in the most recent (Apr. 21) USILA Division III national rankings. ___________________________________________________________________________ April 14, 2008 Denison freshman Emmett Jones (Colorado Springs, CO/Air Academy) made the most of his first two career starts when he totaled 10 goals in the Big Red's victories over Oberlin, 27-3, and St. Vincent, 19-5. The leading scorer for the Big Red with 28 goals in nine games this season, Burton led his team to wins over Mt. St. Joseph, 19-3, and Washington & Jefferson, 24-8. ___________________________________________________________________________ March 31, 2008 Ohio Wesleyan junior attacker Nick Gallagher (Columbus, OH/Dublin Scioto) scored two goals and added an assist against Adrian then added two assists and a goal against Elizabethtown. The Battling Bishops defeated Adrian, 10-6, and Elizabethtown, 10-5. ___________________________________________________________________________ March 24, 2008 Kenyon junior Devin Catlin (Charlottesville, VA/Western Albemarle) scored four goals and assisted on five others in his team's 15-7 defeat of Adrian. Catlin leads the Lords with 14 goals and 14 assists through four games. ___________________________________________________________________________ March 17, 2008 Wooster senior attacker Conor Hannan (Wiscasset, ME/North Yarmouth Academy) scored four goals as the Fighting Scots won twice last week, 7-6 in overtime over Goucher, and 20-3 over Newmann. Hannan scored the game-winner in overtime over the previously undefeated Goucher squad. For the week, his four goals came on just six shots, and he also posted an assist and two ground balls. __________________________________________________________________________
