Castignola’s goal came with a man up with 4:41 remaining in the third quarter, and the Bishops went on to win, 9-7. ___________________________________________________________________________ April 23, 2007 Sophomore Dave Castignola (Dublin, OH/Scioto) posted three goals in an 8-1 first-quarter run and finished with five goals and an assist in Ohio Wesleyan’s 18-7 decision over Eastern. Castignola finished the week with nine goals and three assists. ___________________________________________________________________________ April 16, 2007 Senior Luke Larson (Mercer Island, WA/Seattle Academy) scored 12 of Kenyon’s 20 goals for the week, including seven in a 10-5 victory over Wittenberg. He then tossed in five more goals, as well as an assist, in a 20-9 win over St. Vincent. Larson leads the NCAC in goals per game (3.56) and stands fourth in points with a 3.89 clip. ___________________________________________________________________________ April 9, 2007 Freshman Brady Burton (Dublin, OH/Jerome) posted his second six-goal game of the year and added two assists, as Denison defeated Colorado College, 14-7. He now stands third in the NCAC with 4.11 points per game, and leads the conference with 3.11 goals per game. ___________________________________________________________________________ April 2, 2007 In a 10-7 victory over previously undefeated Kenyon, junior goalkeeper Ryan Perone (Fairfield, CT/Fairfield Prep) led Ohio Wesleyan in the nets. Entering the game, the Lords averaged nearly 14 goals per game, but Perone was up to the task, posting perhaps his finest performance of the season. He made 11 saves to lead the Bishop defense and hold the high-scoring Kenyon team to seven goals, its lowest offensive output of the season. ___________________________________________________________________________ March 26, 2007 Wooster sophomore attacker Mark Weschler (Silver Spring, MD/Our Lady of Good Counsel) totaled six points on three goals and three assists, leading the Scots to an 18-5 win over Oberlin in the Fighting Scots' conference opener. In the first quarter alone, Weschler accounted for two g oals and two assists. ___________________________________________________________________________ March 19, 2007 NCAC scoring leader Tim Gates (North Canton, OH/Hoover) scored twice and dished out four assists as Wittenberg upended Oberlin, 12-7, in the Tigers’ North Coast season opener. __________________________________________________________________________
