NCAC NAMES BILLHARDT ASSISTANT TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

CLEVELAND -- Bret Billhardt has been named Assistant to the Executive Director of the North Coast Athletic Conference.

Billhardt comes to the NCAC after spending the past two years as Assistant Sports Information Director at Washington & Jefferson College. While at W&J, he compiled statistics, designed publications, updated the Presidents' website and was a media contact for the schools' 26 varsity sports. He also served as W&J's NCAA representative during five different teams' national tournament appearances.

"I am pleased to have found such a high-quality individual from an outstanding pool of applicants," said Acting Executive Director Keri Alexander Luchowski. "Bret brings a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to our operation, and we look forward to him joining our staff."

Billhardt will serve the NCAC in the newly created, 10-month position of Assistant to the Executive Director. He will assist with media relations, website maintenance and publications, as well as a wide range of conference administrative duties. He assumes his duties on August 2, 2010.

A 2008 graduate of Otterbein College, Billhardt worked three years as a student assistant in the Cardinals' Sports Information Office. As an undergraduate, he interned with the Perry (OH) Recreation Department, and recently he served as the official scorer for the Washington (PA) Wild Things Independent League team.

Founded in 1983, the North Coast Athletic Conference consists of nine academically selective colleges and universities - Allegheny College, Denison University, Hiram College, Kenyon College, Oberlin College, Ohio Wesleyan University, Wabash College, Wittenberg University and the College of Wooster along with affiliate member Earlham College (field hockey). DePauw University will join the North Coast beginning with the 2011-12 academic year. The NCAC sponsors 23 championship sports, 11 for men and 12 for women.
