The NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament is set to tip-off this weekend with the opening round set to tip-off Thursday.
Three teams will represent the NCAC on the men's side for third time in the last four years and the fifth time in league history. NCAC Tournament champion DePauw (19-9) earned the league’s automatic bid into the field of 62, while tournament runner-up Wooster (22-6) and Ohio Wesleyan (22-5) each earned one of the 19 available at-large invitations. On the women's side, NCAC tournament champion Wittenberg (23-6) earned its ninth bid into the 64-team tournament, while DePauw (23-2) earned its 12th-straight berth, receiving one of the 20 at-large bids into the championship field. 2015 marks the first time since the 1994-95 season the North Coast will be represented by two teams in the national field.
In preparation for this weekend's action, Russell Kramer, NCAC Assistant Executive Director, caught up with all five head coaches to delve into each team's mindset heading into the 2015 championships.
