The NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament is set to tip-off this weekend with the opening round set to tip-off Thursday.
Three teams will represent the NCAC on the men's side for the fourth time in the last five years and the sixth time in league history. NCAC Tournament champion Denison (17-11) earned the league’s automatic bid into the field of 62, while tournament runner-up Wooster (21-7) and Ohio Wesleyan (23-4) each earned one of the 20 available at-large invitations into the national tournament. On the women's side, NCAC tournament champion DePauw (22-6) earned its 13th-straight bid into the 64-team tournament, while Denison (23-4) earned its sixth berth, receiving one of the 20 at-large bids into the championship field. 2016 marks the second-straight season the North Coast will be represented by two teams in the national field.
