Recent Wabash College graduate and baseball student-athlete Erich Lange (Hamilton, OH/Fairfield) has been selected as the recipient of the 2019 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Don Hunsinger Award.
The 2019 College of Sports information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/Google Cloud Academic All-America Baseball Teams were announced on Tuesday, June 4, and Wabash’s Erich Lange (Hamilton, OH/Fairfield) was among the honorees.
The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) released the 2019 ABCA/Rawlings Division III All-America teams on Thursday, May 30, and three North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) athletes were among the honorees. Wooster junior second baseman Harry Witwer-Dukes (Monmouth, OR/Blanchet Catholic) was a first-team selection while Wooster junior designated hitter Dan Harwood (Brecksville, OH/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) and Denison junior first baseman Will Krushena (Bloomfield Hills, MI/Detroit Country Day) were named to the second team.
The 2019 ABCA/Rawlings Mideast All-Region team was announced on Tuesday, May 28, and 11 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) athletes were named to the team. Additionally, Wooster’s Dan Harwood (Brecksville, OH/Brecksville-Broadview Hts) and Harry Witwer-Dukes (Monmouth, OR/Blanchet Catholic) were named to the D3baseball.com All-America team on Tuesday.
The Wooster baseball team fell 14-1 to Heidelberg in game two of the best-of-three series in NCAA Super Regional play on Saturday afternoon at Peaceful Valley in Tiffin, Ohio. With their second loss in the super regional, the Fighting Scots end the 2019 season with a 30-15 record, while the Student Princes improve to 35-13 and advance to pool play at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa which starts on May 31.
The North Coast Athletic Conference hosted its inaugural Health & Wellness Symposium focusing on the mental health of student-athletes, coaches, athletics staff and administrators, Monday, May 20 at Ohio Wesleyan University. More than 244 NCAC members attended multiple sessions throughout the day on a variety of topics, making it one of the largest NCAC non-championship events in our 35 year history.

After working its way through the bracket of the NCAC Baseball Tournament, Denison (38-7) captured its first tournament title and the league’s automatic bid into 2019 NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament. While the Big Red earned the league’s AQ into the national tournament, the NCAC learned that it would have two teams competing in the Division III tournament as Wooster earned one of the 16 available at-large selections into the 58-team field.
Allegheny and Denison started day 2 of the 2019 NCAC Baseball Tournament competing in Game 5. The Big Red recorded a 7-0 win eliminating the Gators from the tournament and then forced Game 7 after claiming a 5-3 victory over Wooster in Game 6. Denison and Wooster will now compete for the 2019 NCAC Baseball Title on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
The College of Wooster's Garrett Crum was selected as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Div. III Honorable Mention Hitter of the Week, the organization announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Wittenberg’s Jack Hollinshead (Highland Heights, OH/Mayfield) received the nod at catcher while Wooster’s Chandler Dippman (Waterville, OH/St. John’s Jesuit) was selected to the utility position.
OBERLIN, Ohio – Oberlin College freshman Jacob Thompson was named to the national D3baseball.com Team of the Week as a designated hitter, the website announced on Tuesday morning. On Wednesday, the NCBWA also named him Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Eight North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) institutions appeared in the winter update of the 2018-19 Division III Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings. Kenyon College led the group, residing in 44th place with 239 points.
