Three NCAC Players Named ABCA All-Americans

ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams

The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) released the 2019 ABCA/Rawlings Division III All-America teams on Thursday, May 30, and three North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) athletes were among the honorees. Wooster junior second baseman Harry Witwer-Dukes (Monmouth, OR/Blanchet Catholic) was a first-team selection while Wooster junior designated hitter Dan Harwood (Brecksville, OH/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) and Denison junior first baseman Will Krushena (Bloomfield Hills, MI/Detroit Country Day) were named to the second team.

Witwer-Dukes was named to the first team after batting .390 with 45 runs, 14 doubles, five triples, seven home runs and 56 RBI this season. He also earned All-America and All-Region accolades to go along with ABCA All-Region honors.

Harwood earns second-team recognition after collecting a team-best .424 batting average with 53 runs scored, 18 doubles, five home runs, 28 walks and 49 RBI in 2019. He also earned All-America and All-Region honors to go along with ABCA All-Region accolades.

Krushena, the 2019 NCAC Player of the Year, landed on the second team after batting .374 with 46 runs, 21 doubles, five home runs, 22 walks and a team-record 69 RBI this season for the Big Red. He also collected a 28-game hitting streak that broke the Denison school record of 27 set by Charlie Apfelbach in 2013. He was also named to the ABCA and All-Region teams this season.

ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First Team selections, which were announced on Tuesday, were nominated for All-America honors. In all divisions, the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Teams will be announced on Wednesday, June 19. The ABCA National Pitchers of the Year for all divisions will be announced on Monday, June 24, followed by the ABCA National Players of the Year on Wednesday, June 26.
