The D3baseball.com Team of the Week was released on Tuesday (Apr. 9) and two North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) student-athletes were tabbed to the team. Wittenberg’s Jack Hollinshead (Highland Heights, OH/Mayfield) received the nod at the catcher position while Wooster’s Chandler Dippman (Waterville, OH/St. John’s Jesuit) was selected at the utility spot.
Hollinshead helped lead Wittenberg to a 4-2 record in conference action last week. The senior's week was highlighted by a 4-for-4 game with three home runs and five RBI against Wabash. In six games, Hollinshead hit .520 (13-for-25) with three doubles and three homers for a 1.000 slugging percentage. He also tallied 11 RBI and scored seven runs.
Dippman contributed both on the mound and at the plate for Wooster. The senior's week started with five innings of four-hit shutout baseball in a win over Hiram on Wednesday. In game two, Dippman went 3-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, a double, and a home run while playing third base. For the week, Dippman was 10-for-17 (.558) at the plate and had a 0.75 ERA in 12 innings of work.
The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its eighth season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the ninth Team of the Week of the 2019 season.
