WOOSTER, Ohio -- The College of Wooster's Garrett Crum was selected as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Div. III Honorable Mention Hitter of the Week, the organization announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Crum upped his hitting streak to 21 games during then-15th-ranked Wooster's Saturday sweep over ninth-ranked Denison University. Crum went 6-for-9 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs scored, as he helped the Fighting Scots move into first-place in the North Coast Athletic Conference.

Overall, the smooth-swinging first baseman went 10-for-14 over three games last week. He since upped his hitting streak to 23 games before it was snapped in the nightcap of Wednesday's twin bill versus Wittenberg University.

Additionally, Crum will be on the Ray Jeske Show on Thursday, May 2 at 1:15 p.m. Fans near Massillon, Ohio, can catch the show on ESPN 990 AM, and it's also available online here.
