Led by four second-team selections, 10 NCAC football players were named to the 2017 D3football.com All-North Region Team, it was announced by the website on December 5th.
The four NCAC players named to the second team included Wooster sophomore wide receiver Nick Strausbaugh (Fredericksburg, OH/Waynedale), Wittenberg senior defensive end Chandler Ferko (Plain City, OH/Jonathan Alder), Ohio Wesleyan senior safety Brad Brodek (Parma, OH/Valley Forge) and Oberlin freshman punter Bryant Walker (South Lyon, MI/East).
Six players from the NCAC were named to the third team, including Wabash sophomore running back Ike James (Lowell, IN/Lowell), Wabash senior tight end Dylan Buresh (Holland, MI/Hamilton), DePauw senior offensive guard Thomas Cunningham (Elkhart, IN/Penn), Wittenberg senior offensive guard Scott Turner (Ft. Thomas, KY/Highlands), Oberlin sophomore kicker Michael Leshchyshyn (Seattle, WA/Roosevelt) and Kenyon senior safety Curt Williams (Chesterland, OH/West Geauga).
The teams, selected in balloting by North Region sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 217 nominations by Division III member schools. A total of 75 players were chosen.
Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced the evening of Dec. 15, in D3football.com’s pregame coverage for Stagg Bowl XLV.
