GILBERT, Ariz. -- The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced the 2018 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-Region teams on Wednesday, Nov. 28 and the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) had 18 players named in the Great Lakes Region.
The NCAC comprised 18 of the 32 spots on the all-region team, tied as the most conference representitives since 2014. Nine student-athletes were named to the first-team, including three from Denison. Michelle Kabaira (Harare, Zimbabwe/Arundel School), Lucy Pearsall (Cassopolis, Mich./Latin School of Chicago) and Abby Scully (Charlotte, N.C./Providence) all took home first-team honors.
Kenyon duo Molly Keen (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) and Hannah Sklar (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park & River Forest) collected first-team honors along with DePauw’s Rose Revolinski (Milwaukee, Wis./University School of Milwaukee), Ohio Wesleyan’s Barbara Welling (Zeist, Netherlands/KSG De Breul), Wittenberg’s Isabella Wagner (Hilliard, Ohio/Bradley) and Wooster’s Sydney Schuster (Ann Arbor, Mich./Skyline).
Nine more student-athletes received second-team recognition. Earlham teammates Maite Turlings (Heemstede, Netherlands/Coornhert Lyceam) and Sofia Salvatore (Miami, Fla./Coral Gables) were tabbed to the second-team along with Ohio Wesleyan products, Astrid Koek (Hulsberg, Netherlands/Erasmus) and Alexis Roberts (Louisville, Ky./Christian Academy). Wooster also had a pair named in the form of Katie Shideler (Gibsonia, Pa./North Allegheny) and Erika Womack (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley). Rounding out the field were Denison’s Charlotte Godfrey (Denver, Colo./Cherry Creek), DePauw’s Kate Milner (St. Louis, Mo./John Burroughs School) and Wittenberg’s Flora van den Borne (Nijmegen, Netherlands/Canisius).
