DePauw senior Paige Gooch leads the women’s individual standings after event one of the 2014 NCAC Golf Championship series with a two-day total of 152. She carded a 74 in round one on Saturday and then tallied a 78 on Sunday to own a five-stroke lead heading into next weekend’s final 36 holes of competition.

Denison freshman Jonathan Taylor posted a top-five individual finish to lead the Big Red to the team title at Wooster’s Nye Intercollegiate played at The Wooster Country Club. Taylor finished in a tie for fourth in the individual standings after carding a 154 (74-80). DU topped the 12-team field with a two-day total of 625 (312-313).
    Miranda Santucci, Allegheny

Individual Finish: Champion Medalist
Team Score: 682 (338-344)
Team Finish: Tie-3rd

Senior Miranda Santucci claimed champion medalist honors at the Gannon Invitational by six strokes after she fired a two-day total of 149, which included an opening-round 77 and a career-best  72 in the final round. Santucci has now won medalist honors at the Gannon Invitational two years in a row. The Gators finished in a tie for third with Ursuline in the final team standings with 682 strokes (338-344).

Allegheny senior Oliver White posted a pair of top-five finishes at separate events last week. He finished fourth at The Hershey Cup with a two-day total of 149 (73-76) on the Hershey C.C. East course, before earning champion medalist honors at the CMU Edwards Jones Shootout with a 36-hole score of 140 (69-71) at the Links at Spring Church in Apollo, Pennsylvania. The Gators won the Edward Jones Shootout with a 591 strokes (289-302) and finished third at The Hershey Cup with a two-day total of 618 (307-311).

Denison sophomore Brynn FitzGerald captured champion medalist honors in the field of 105 golfers at the Ohio Wesleyan Laura Bump Invitational played at Mill Creek Golf Club in Ostrander, Ohio. She ran away with the individual title with a two-day total of 148, which included an opening-round 75 and a school-record tally 73 in the final round. The Big Red finished third overall in the team standings with 646 strokes (326-320).

Wittenberg junior Alex Andrews fired a two-day total of 143 (74-69) and earned champion medalist honors at the Ohio Wesleyan Strimer Memorial after defeating senior teammate David Wetterich (Cincinnati, OH/LaSalle) in a one-hole sudden-death playoff. The sixth-ranked Tigers won their fourth tournament in the last five starts with a two-day total of 578 (293-285).

DePauw senior Paige Gooch tied for fourth in the individual standings at the highly competitive Washington University (MO) Invitational after carding a 151 (76-75). In addition to her fourth-place finish at Wash. Univ., Gooch also defeated Theresa Damica, 3&2, in the Tigers 4-1 match play win over Olivet on Tuesday.

Kenyon senior Alex Blickle battled severe weather conditions over the weekend, but still managed to finish second in the individual standings at the Muskingum Invitational with a two-day total of 146 (70-76). The Lords tied for second in the team standings at the event with host Muskingum as both teams accumulated 623 strokes. Otterbein won the team title with a 36-hole score of 587 (283-304).

Denison senior Aaron Klimchuk helped lead the Big Red to a third-place finish at the Myrtle Beach Shootout on the Dye Club Course at the Barefoot Golf Resort. Klimchuk finished in a tie for second in the individual standings after firing a three-over par 75. DU finished third in the team standings with 318 strokes, while McDaniel and Rutgers-Camden tied for the top position with 315 strokes each.

Denison senior Carly Schultz lead the Big Red to the team title at the Myrtle Beach Shootout on the Norman Course at the Barefoot Golf Resort. Schultz took home champion medalist honors after carding a career-low round of 77 on the 5,817-yard, par 72 course. Her effort helped the Big Red win the team title over McDaniel by 33 strokes, 347-380.

Wittenberg junior John Chaney helped guide the top-ranked Tigers to a fourth-place finish at OWU’s Taylormade-Adidas Intercollegiate in Dataw Island, South Carolina. Chaney finished in a tie for fourth individually with a 54-hole score of 221 (73-76-72), while the team finished the event fourth overall with 923 strokes (305-312-306).

Allegheny senior Sarah Vorder Bruegge finished in a tie for 37th at the highly competitive Jekyll Island Invitational in Georgia after tallying a 54-hole score of 248 (79-87-82). Her three-day total helped the Gators finish in a tie for 15th at the national event with 1,046 strokes (365-345-336).

DePauw freshman Alexandria Ramirez finished in a tie for fourth at the Chick-fil-A Collegiate, held at Coosa Country Club in Rome, Georgia. Ramirez finished the two-day event with 152 strokes, which included an opening-round 79 and a final-round 73. The Tigers closed out the Fall portion of their schedule by finishing second out of 15 teams at the event with a two-day total of 633 (321-312).

Wittenberg junior Jared Wissinger shot the fourth-best two-round score in school history to power the Tigers to the team title at the DePauw Small College Classic. He opened the tournament with a three-under par 68 at Deer Creek and then fired a 71 on Sunday at Twin Bridges to earn champion medalist honors at the event with 139 strokes. Wittenberg ran away with the team title at the event with a 36-hole score of 586 (290-296), which was 27 strokes better then the closest competitor

Wittenberg junior Nicole Waers was the NCAC’s top finisher at the Wittenberg Pat Clouse Invitational, played at Springfield Country Club in Ohio. Waers finished in a tie for second at the event with a two-day total of 155 (78-77). The Tigers finished third overall in the team standings with 655 strokes (314-341), behind Ithaca (627) and DePauw (639)

Wittenberg junior John Chaney won champion medalist honors at the prestigious Gordin Classic at Columbus Country Club to lead the Tigers to the team championship. Competing in the Wittenberg lineup for the first time this season, Chaney topped the 60-player field with 212  strokes (73-71-68). The Tigers won the event with 863 strokes, including a school-record score of 281 in the final round.

OWU captured the team title with 358 strokes, which was 11 strokes better then second-place Ohio Northern.

Smith was named to the All-Tournament First-Team after finishing third overall in the individual standings with 154 strokes (77-77). The Tigers finished deadlocked in the team standings with DePauw, while Washington (MO) grabbed the team championship with 628 strokes (315-313).

Pavelic helped lead OWU to a tie for seventh in the final team standings at the event as the Battling Bishops finished with 608 strokes (307-301).

The Big Red dominated the competition as they cruised to the team title with a 36-hole score of 650 (330-320), 47 strokes better then the second-place squads.

DePauw senior Paige Gooch earned medalist honors to help the Tigers capture the team championship at the 2013 Anderson University Invitational. Gooch, who has now won six collegiate individual titles, topped the field with a two-day score of 154 (77-77). The Tigers grabbed the top team score at Anderson with a 36-hole score of 630 (319-311).
