2007-08 NCAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete's Of The Week

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK - DISTANCE/MIDDLE DISTANCE RUNNER
Allegheny senior Ryan Place (Meshoppen, PA/Elk Lake) outpaced the 29-man 
field in the 3,000 meters at the Kent State Tune-up with a time of 8:21.73. 
His time was .62 off the school record that has stood since 2005.

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK - SPRINTS/HURDLES
Ohio Wesleyan freshman Sean Patrick (Delaware, OH/Hayes) placed 11th in the 
60-meter dash at the Kent State Tune-up with a time of 7.11 seconds.

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK - FIELD EVENTS
At the Kent State Tune-Up, Ohio Wesleyan sophomore David Burke (Hudson, OH/
Hudson) wound up second in the triple jump (44 feet, 4 inches) and third 
in the long jump (21 feet, 10.75 inches).

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK - DISTANCE/MIDDLE DISTANCE RUNNER
Denison senior Joel Bendtsen (Chillicothe, OH/Chillicothe) won the 5,000 
meters at the All-Ohio Indoor Track and Field Championships with a time 
of 15:11.81.

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK - SPRINTS/HURDLES
Ohio Wesleyan junior Preston Osborn (Edgerton, OH/Edgerton) led the 
Battling Bishops to a third-place team finish at the All-Ohio meet. He 
took first in the 400 meters with a time of 50.70 seconds, and was part 
of the third-place 4x400 meter relay

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK - FIELD EVENTS
Erik Larkin (Cincinnati, OH/Country Day) led Wittenberg to a seventh-
place team finish at the All-Ohio Championships. He won the triple 
jump with a leap of 44 feet, 4.25 inches.

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK - DISTANCE/MIDDLE DISTANCE RUNNER
Wabash senior Geoff Lambert (Chesterton, IN/Chesterton) won the 800 meters 
(1:55.79) in meet-record time, just .79 from reaching the national 
qualifying standard, at the Wabash Open Invitational.

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK - SPRINTS/HURDLES
Wabash senior Bart Banach (Munster, IN/Munster) finished the 55 meters with 
a time of 6.50 seconds, the best in the North Coast this season, at the 
Wabash Open Invitational.

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK - FIELD EVENTS
Wooster senior Tristan Jordan (Virginia Beach, VA/Floyd E. Kellam) won the 
tripe jump (42-2.75 inches) and was second in the long jump (20-5.75 
inches) to lead the Fighting Scots at the Oberlin Open.

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK - DISTANCE/MIDDLE DISTANCE RUNNER
Denison’s 4x800-meter relay, made up of Lex Hultquiist (Knoxville, TN/Webb 
School), Erik Walker (The Woodlands, TX/Woodlands), Ben Holder (Dover, OH/
Dover) and Ben Pendery (Fort Thomas, KY/Highlands) won their event with a 
time of 8:05.84. The Big Red finished third at the NCAC Relays on 
February 2.

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK - SPRINTS/HURDLES
Ohio Wesleyan’s 4x400-meter relay, made up of Preston Osborn (Edgerton, 
OH/Edgerton), Ryan Ellis (Columbus, OH/Dublin Scioto), Bryce Mathias 
(Centerburg, OH/Centerburg) and Nathan Osborn (Edgerton, OH/Edgerton) set 
a school and conference record en route to wining the event with a time of 
3:26.28. The Battling Bishops won the NCAC Relays on February 2. 

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK - FIELD EVENTS
Allegheny's triple jump relay, made up of Joe McMahon (Pittsburgh, PA/
Baldwin) and Darryl Overton (Buffalo, NY/St. Francis) won their event at 
the NCAC Relays. McMahon posted the top distance individually with a leap 
of 13.68 meters/44 feet, 11.75 inches, while Overton leapt 12.59 meters/41 
feet, 3.75 inches, the sixth-best individual effort. The Gators finished 
fourth at the NCAC Relays on February 2.

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK - SPRINTS/HURDLES
Wabash sophomore Emmanuel Aouad (Terre Haute, IN/North) won the 55-meter 
hurdles (7.74) and the long jump (22 feet, 5 inches) at the Little Giants' 
Alumni Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 26. 

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK - FIELD EVENTS
At the Wabash Alumni Invitational, Little Giant freshman Rob Smallman 
(Hobart, IN/Hobart) shattered meet and school records, and met the NCAA 
"B" qualifying standard, when he cleared 15 feet, 5 inches (1.70 meters) 
in the pole vault. While winning the event, he bested the meet record by 
more than two feet and was nearly a foot higher than the previous school 
best.
