Denison sophomore Makorobono Salukombo (Lakewood, OH/Lakewood) won the 3,000 meters at the Denison Last Chance meet with a time of 8:45.22.

Wooster senior Bryan Albani (Warren, OH/Howland) won the 55-meter hurdles at the Denison Last Chance meet with a time of 7.93 seconds.

Wabash junior Wes Chamblee (South Bend, IN/St. Joseph’s) won the first-ever NCAC Pentathlon. He scored 3,240 points to top the nine-man field.

Wabash freshman Jake Waterman (Noblesville, IN/Noblesville) won the 800 meters (1:52.88) at the DePauw Indoor Classic. His time met the NCAA provisional qualifying mark and set a meet record.

Oberlin senior Seth Wimberly (Covington, GA/Eastside) posted times of 49.65 seconds in the 400 meters and 22.34 seconds in the 200 meters at the Kent State Tuneup.

Earlham junior Chad Wertman (Holland, IN/Southridge) won the shot put (52 feet, 5.5 inches) and placed sixth in the weight throw (43 feet, 0.25 inches) at the DePauw Classic. His throw in the shot met the NCAA provisional qualifying standard.

Allegheny senior Tony Dipre (Twinsburg, OH/Walsh Jesuit) placed 15th of 205 runners in the mile at the Boston University Valentine Invitational. His time of 4:10.28 was an NCAA “B” cut time. He was also part of the NCAA provisional-qualifying distance medley relay that finished sixth of 30 teams (10:03.32).

Ohio Wesleyan senior Steve Brown (Redford Twp., MI/Redford) set meet and school records in the 55-meter hurdles at the All-Ohio Championships. He won the event in an NCAA provisional-qualifying time of 7.59 seconds. Ohio Wesleyan senior David Burke (Hudson, OH/Hudson) won the triple jump (44 feet, 1.5 inches) and was third in the long jump (21 feet, 6.25 inches) at the All-Ohio Championships.

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Kyle Lemke (Loudonville, OH/Loudonville) took first place in the 800-meter run at the Greater Columbus Championship, hosted by Capital on Saturday, Feb. 6. He crossed the line in a winning time of 1:58.42.

Ohio Wesleyan freshman Silas Jolliff (Cardington, OH/Cardington-Lincoln) won the 200- and 400-meter dashes in respective times of :22.43 and :49.93 at the Greater Columbus Championship, hosted by Capital on Saturday, Feb. 6. Oberlin freshman Alex Guo (Brooklyn, NY/American School in Japan) won the triple jump at the Oberlin Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 6, with a distance of 12.57 meters.

Allegheny senior Ben Eyer (Lititz, PA/Manheim), sophomore Taylor Throckmorton (Chagrin Falls, OH/Chagrin Falls), senior Ryan Hanson (Presto, PA/Chartiers Valley) and senior Tony Dipre (Twinsburg, OH/Walsh Jesuit) combined to win the distance medley at the NCAC Relays. They finished the race in 10:18.76.

Ohio Wesleyan junior Sean Patrick (Delaware, OH/Hayes), freshman Matt Martin (New Brighton, PA/Riverside), freshman Jake Eldridge (London, OH/London) and freshman Silas Jolliff (Cardington, OH/Cardington-Lincoln) combined to win the 4x400 meter relay at the NCAC Relays. The foursome finished in 3:24.66 which was a meet-record time. Earlham junior Chad Wertman (Holland, IN/Southridge) and senior Chris Shaw (Anderson, IN/Pendleton Hts.) combined to win the men’s shot put relay at the NCAC Relays. Wertman, who won the event individually, recorded a toss of 14.80 meters/48 feet, 6.75 inches. Shaw’s throw, good for fourth individually, was 14.05 meters46 feet, 1.25 inches.

Oberlin’s Ben Schild (Prescott, AZ/Prescott) placed fourth in the 3,000 meters at the Baldwin-Wallace Mid-January meet. He crossed the line in 8:52.22.

Emmanuel Aouad (Terre Haute, IN/North) of Wabash set a meet and school record in the 55-meter hurdles at the Wabash Indoor Invitational. He finished the event in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 7.61 seconds. Kyle Faris (Olmsted Falls, OH/Olmsted Falls) of Ohio Wesleyan won the weight throw (49 feet, 3.75 inches) and the shot put (47 feet, 11.25 inches) at the Ohio Wesleyan Tri-Meet.
