Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Nate Newman won the 2016 NCAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Heptathlon title after accumulating 4,705 points last weekend at OWU’s Gordon Field House in Delaware.

February 22nd

Oberlin senior Josh Urso finished fourth in the 800-meters at the non-scoring Kent State Tune-Up, crossing the line in 1:55.40, just .08 off the school record.  

Colin McShane, Ohio Wesleyan
(Columbus, OH/Olentagny) 
 

Ohio Wesleyan junior Colin McShane led the Bishops to a second-place finish at the Kenyon Classic by winning the 200-meters, crossing the line in 22.98 seconds and running a leg on the winning 4x200 relay team (1:31.08).

John Petrecca, Wooster
(Willowick, OH/North)  

Wooster freshman John Petrecca finished second in the high jump at the Kenyon Classic with a mark of 1.93 meters.

John Sotos, Ohio Wesleyan
(Dublin, OH/Coffman)  

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore John Sotos helped lead the Bishops to a second-place finish at the All-Ohio Championships by winning both the mile and 3000-meter titles. Sotos won the mile in 4:19.83 and broke the tape in the 3000-meter run in 8:41.48.

Romello Cook, Ohio Wesleyan
(Akron, OH/Buchtel)  

Ohio Wesleyan senior Romello Cook led the Bishops to a second-place finish at the All-Ohio Championships by winning the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 8.32 seconds.  

Matt Margida, Wooster
(Hudson, OH/Hudson)  

Wooster senior Matt Margida finished fourth in the shot put at the All-Ohio Championships with a mark of 14.70 meters. 

February 8th

 

Mitch Keller, Denison
(Glen Rock, NJ/Don Bosco Prep)  

Denison senior Mitch Keller helped lead the Big Red to a sixth-place finish at its own Bob Shannon Invite. Keller finished second in the 800-meters (1:58.58) and ran legs on the first-place DMR relay (10:40.65) and the second-place 4x400 relay squad (3:32.88). 

Romello Cook, Ohio Wesleyan
(Akron, OH/Buchtel)  

Ohio Wesleyan senior Romello Cook led the Bishops at the non-scored Akron Invite with a 12th-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles crossing the line in 8.37 seconds. 

Matt Dickerson, Jr., Wabash
(Greenfield, IN/Greenfield Central)  

Wabash senior Matt Dickerson Jr. won the men’s heptathlon over the weekend as part of the Keck Invitational at Illinois Wesleyan University. Dickerson scored a total of 4,760 points, breaking his own school record of 4,665 points. His total currently ranks fifth among NCAA DIII competitors.

(Muncie, IN/Muncie Central)  

Wabash senior Fabian House helped lead the Little Giants to a third-place finish at the Rose-Hulman Engineer Invitational by winning the 3,000-meters with a time of 8:36.30. 

Adam Turner, Ohio Wesleyan
(Clyde, OH/Clyde)  

Ohio Wesleyan senior Adam Turner led the Bishops at the non-scored SPIRE Midwest Open with a ninth-place finish in the 400-meters (49.50) and a 25th in the 200-meters (22.74). Turner also ran a leg on the 4x400 relay which finished 13th (3:30.90). 

Ahmed Abdel Halim, Ohio Wesleyan
(Toledo, OH/Ottawa Hills)  

Ohio Wesleyan senior Amhed Abdel Halim won the triple jump at the non-scored SPIRE Midwest Open with a jump of 14.54m. That mark currently ranks third in Div. III.

Cole Seward, Wabash
(Terre Haute, IN/North Vigo)  

Wabash junior Cole Seward helped lead the Little Giants to a second-place finish at the Rose-Hulman Friday Night Invitational. Seward won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.33 and then anchored the second-place 4x400 relay team that turned in a time of 3:29.47. 

Griffin Peyton, Ohio Wesleyan
(Cincinnati, OH/Anderson) 
 

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Griffin Peyton led the Bishops to their second-straight first-place finish of the 2016 season at the Wooster Quad last weekend. Peyton finished first in the 60-meter dash (7.07) and second in the 200-meters (23.18).

Dozier, DePauw
(South Bend, IN/Riley)  

DePauw senior Marcus Dozier broke his own school-record in winning the shot put at the Rose-Hulman Friday Night Invitational. Dozier’s winning toss was 16.52m, which is currently the fourth best nationally in Division III. 

January 18th

Nick Horton, Ohio Wesleyan
(Westerville, OH/North)  

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Nick Horton helped lead the Battling Bishops to a team victory at its own OWU-Triangular after winning the mile in a time of 4:37.15.

Laike Wallace, Wittenberg
(Washington Court House, OH/Washington)  

Wittenberg senior Laike Wallace led the Tigers to a fifth-place finish at the Otterbein Invite to open up the 2016 portion of the season. Wallace finished second in the 500-meter dash (1:07.83) and third in the 60-meter hurdles (8.63). 

Ahmed Abdel Halim, Ohio Wesleyan
(Toledo, OH/Ottawa Hills)  

Ohio Wesleyan senior Ahmed Abdel Halim turned in a first-place effort in the triple-jump with a mark of 14.08m to help the Bishops win their first meet of the 2016 season.

Oberlin freshman Daniel Mukasa placed first in the pole vault at the Dan Kinsey Invite after a vault of 4.10m. The win was the first of his career and a personal record. 

December 7th

Stephen Coldren, Ohio Wesleyan
(Phoenix, AZ/Thunderbird)  

Ohio Wesleyan senior Stephen Coldren was the top Division III finisher in the 1000-meters at the non-scoring Tiffin Alumni Open with a time of 2:41.61.

 

Adam Wadlington, Wabash
(Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence North)  

Wabash senior Adam Wadlington finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.36 after posting a lifetime best of 8.33 in the prelims at the University of Indianapolis non-scoring meet. 

Christian Rhodes, Wabash
(Indianapolis, IN/Brebeuf Jesuit)  

Wabash junior Christian Rhodes placed second in the pole vault, clearing 4.70 meters, producing the third-highest vault in the nation in Division III on the opening weekend.
