2004-05 NCAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Atheltes of the Week

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - DISTANCE/MIDDLE DISTANCE RUNNER
Oberlin senior Shannon Morris (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) set a Yeowomen 
record as she won the 800 meters at the Oberlin Tune-Up Meet. She finished 
in 2:19.58.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - SPRINTS/HURDLES
Oberlin senior Teresa Collins (Stone Mountain, GA/Woodward Academy) won 
the 55 meter dash (7.57), was a part of the third-place 4x200 relay 
(1:57.15) and was a part of the winning 4x400 relay (4:14.04) at the 
Oberlin Tune-Up Meet.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - FIELD
Kenyon junior Katy Cameron (New Orleans, LA) placed second in the pole 
vault event at the Denison Last Chance Meet and set a new Ladies indoor 
record by clearing 10-0.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - DISTANCE/MIDDLE DISTANCE RUNNER
Allegheny senior Leah Shouey (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area) set a school 
record in the mile at the Kent State Tune-up.  Her winning time of 
4:55.42 was also an NCAA automatic qualifying time.  She also placed 
eighth in the 800 meters (2:19.19).

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - SPRINTS/HURDLES
Hiram senior Jasmine Kirtley (Shaker Hts, OH/Shaker Hts.) collected 
two first-place finishes at the Great Cleveland Colleges meet.  She 
led off the Terriers? 4x200 relay as it won the event in a season-best 
time of 1:50.83.  Kirtley also won the 55 meters in a personal best 
time of 7.67.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - FIELD
Earlham junior Catonya Black (Memphis, TN/Sheffield) was second in 
the triple jump at the DePauw Classic.  She leapt 34 feet, 11.75 
inches.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - DISTANCE/MIDDLE DISTANCE RUNNER
Denison junior Kim Murley (Dalton, PA/Tunkhannock) won the 800 meters 
at the All-Ohio, setting a school record and meeting the NCAA Division 
III provisional qualifying standard in 2:17.00.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - SPRINTS/HURDLES
Ohio Wesleyan freshman Ashley Shaffer (Lancaster, OH/Lancaster) won the 
400 meters at the All-Ohio meet (59.51) and was part of the fifth-place 
4x400 relay.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - FIELD
Ohio Wesleyan senior Liz Newell (Delaware, OH/Hayes) won the shot put at 
the All-Ohio meet.  Her throw of 43 feet, 2.5 inches was also an NCAA 
provisional qualifying mark.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - DISTANCE/MIDDLE DISTANCE RUNNER
Denison junior Jessica Holder (Dover, OH/Dover) won the 3000 meters at 
the Big Red Invitational.  She was clocked at 10:43.19.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - SPRINTS/HURDLES
Earlham freshman Sara Bohall Westport, IN/Columbus East) set three school 
records at the Anderson Invitational. She won the 55 hurdles in 8.84 to 
break her own record, and was part of the third place 4x200 relay and 
second-place 4x400 relays that also set school marks. The 4x200 finished 
in 1:51.14, while the 4x400 was timed 4:23.63.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - FIELD
Kenyon junior Katie Walker (Columbus, OH/Columbus Academy) won the 
long jump at the Denison Big Red Invitational with a mark of 17 feet, 
10 inches/5.44 meters.  It broke the Ladies? school record by an inch 
and met the NCAA provisional qualifying standard.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - DISTANCE/MIDDLE DISTANCE RUNNER
Denison?s distance medley relay team of Kim Murley (Dalton, PA/
Tunkhannock Area), Kristin Matthews (Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington), 
Julie Stowers (Brighton, MI/Brighton) and Christine Collins (Chagrin 
Falls, OH/Chagrin Falls) won the event at the NCAC Relays in 10:32.26.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - SPRINTS/HURDLES
Hiram?s 4x200 meter relay of Jasmine Kirtley (Shaker Hts., OH/
Shaker Hts.), Lauren Sturdivant (Cleveland, OH/Glenville), Lynne 
Hutchison (Solon, OH/Solon) and Gwen Alger (Mantua, OH/Crestwood) won 
the event with a strong early-season time of 1:51.06, winning the event 
by a second and a half. 

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - FIELD
Ohio Wesleyan?s high jump relay Ashley Shaffer (Lancaster, OH/Lancaster) 
and Jen Musbach (North Olmsted, OH/North Olmsted) combined to win the 
event at the NCAC Relays.  Shaffer had the highest jump of the day, a 
meet-record 5 feet, 4 1/4 inches as the duo out-jumped the field by 
nearly a foot.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - DISTANCE/MIDDLE DISTANCE RUNNER
Denison sophomore Christine Collins (Chagrin Falls, OH/Chagrin Falls) 
won the 1500 in 4:52.39 and set a school record en route to winning 
the 3000 meters (10:21.95) at the Denison Lid-Lifter.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - SPRINTS/HURDLES
Wittenberg freshman Nicole Bailey (Cincinnati, OH/Summit Country Day) 
finished third in the 55 meters (7.58) and 200 meters (27.88) at the 
Marietta Open.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - FIELD
Wooster junior Jill Berner (Dunkirk, NY/Fredonia) won the pole vault 
(10 feet even) at the Oberlin Quad meet.
