Denison senior Aedin Brennan captured the NCAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Pentathlon championship for the fourth year in a row after re-setting her own conference record with 3,686 points on Sunday at OWU’s Gordon Field House.

Denison senior Kate Benson posted the Big Red’s lone victory at the Kenyon Classic in the mile with a school-record time of 5:16.43, which bested her previous personal-record time by 10.34 seconds. 

Paris Nahas, Wooster
(Massilon, OH/Tuslaw) 
 

Wooster senior Paris Nahas played a part in four first-place finishes at the Kenyon Classic - two as an individual and two on relays. She swept the 200 and 400 meters in 26.33 and 59.04, respectively, a career-best in the latter. She also led off the 4x200 relay (1:47.88) and was part of the 4x400 relay (4:12.02). 

Ana Richardson, Oberlin

Oberlin sophomore Ana Richardson led the Yeowomen to a first-place team finish at the Greater Cleveland Championships, winning the weight throw with a mark of 17.53m and finishing third in the shot put with a throw of 12.89m.

Sarah Fowler, Ohio Wesleyan
(Mount Vernon, OH/Fredericktown)  

Ohio Wesleyan junior Sarah Fowler turned in another impressive performance at the All-Ohio Championships winning the 3,000-meters with a time of 10:12.47. Fowler also ran a leg on the Bishops’ second-place distance medley relay team. 

Sara Johnson, Ohio Wesleyan
(Dublin, OH/Coffman)  

Ohio Wesleyan senior Sara Johnson captured the 60-meter hurdles title at All-Ohio Championships with a time of 8.66 seconds. Johnson’s time on Saturday is currently the fastest posted in all of Division III to date.

Aedin Brennan, Denison

Denison senior Aedin Brennan set a school-and meet-record in the triple jump at the All-Ohio Championships to lead the Big Red. With her second jump of the finals, Brennan pulled off an All-Ohio Championship record leap of 11.68m that bested the previous mark set in 2005 by Wilmington’s Doreen Nagawa. Currently, Brennan’s mark ranks second in Division III.

Abbey Warth, Ohio Wesleyan
(Massillon, OH/Tuslaw)  

Ohio Wesleyan senior Abbey Warth posted a top-five finish to lead OWU at the non-scoring Akron Invite. Warth placed fourth in the Gold Division of the mile run, finishing in 4:58.52.

Brea Medlock, Wittenberg
(Galena, OH/Big Walnut)  

Wittenberg senior Brea Medlock earned second-place in the 60-meter dash (7.96) to held lead the Tigers to a 10th-place finish at the Joe Banks Invite at Ohio Northern. Medlock also ran a leg on the winning 4x200 relay team (1:46.97).

Denison senior Aedin Brennan finished second at the All-Ohio Combined Events Championship with 3,562 points behind two PR performances and one event victory.

February 1st

 

Sarah Fowler, Ohio Wesleyan
(Mount Vernon, OH/Fredericktown)  

Ohio Wesleyan junior Sarah Fowler was the top Div. III finisher in the 3,000-meters, crossing the line in a time of 9:58.89 at the non-scored SPIRE Midwest Open. The time is currently the eighth fastest in all of Div. III.

Natalie Corrado, Allegheny
(Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon)  

Allegheny sophomore Natalie Corrado ran seven races in 24 hours at the SPIRE Midwest Open. On Friday she split a 59.1 in the DMR, which is currently 11th in the nation and first in the NCAC. Corrado finished sixth (9.32) in the 60-hurdles and then broke the school-record with a seventh-place finish in the 60-meter dash (7.98). She capped her weekend off by tying the school-record in the 300-meter dash (26.37) and ran a leg on the 4x400 relay (4:10.79), which currently ranks fifth in the NCAC.   

Carolyn Webster, Wooster
(Fredericktown, OH/Frederick)  

Wooster freshman Carolyn Webster won both the long-jump (5.26m) and high-jump (1.65m) to help lead the Fighting Scots to a fourth-place finish at its own Invitational.

Emily Lamm, Denison
(Pittsburgh, PA/Shady Side Academy) 
 

Denison senior Emily Lamm led the Big Red to the team title at its own Lid-Lifter last weekend after crossing the line first in the 3,000-meters with a time of 10:31.26.

Paris Nahas, Wooster
(Massilon, OH/Tuslaw) 
 

Wooster senior Paris Nahas posted a pair of victories to help lead the Fighting Scots to a second-place finish at its own Quad meet. Individually, Nahas won the 60-meter dash in a time of 8.24 and the 200-meter dash in 26.65.

Arlesha Cospy, Denison
(Trotwood, OH/Trotwood-Madison)  

Denison sophomore Arlesha Cospy turned in a pair of top-two finishes in the throwing events at DU’s own Lid-Lifter last Saturday. Cospy won the shot put with a toss of 11.11m and set a school-record in the weight throw with a mark of 12.55m to finish second.

Abbey Warth, Ohio Wesleyan
(Massillon, OH/Tuslaw)  

Ohio Wesleyan senior Abbey Warth led the Battling Bishops to a team title at its own OWU-Triangular last weekend after picking up a pair of event titles. Individually, Warth won the 800-meters in a time of 2:20.57 and ran a leg on the winning 4x400 relay team that posted a time of 4:20.84.

Amanda Clay, Ohio Wesleyan
(Van Wert, OH/Van Wert)  

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Amanda Clay posted a pair of victories to help lead the Bishops to a team victory at its own OWU-Triangular. Individually, Clay won the 60-meter dash in a time of 8.15 and ran a leg on the winning 4x200 relay team that posted a time of 1:49.43.

Carolyn Webster, Wooster
(Fredericktown, OH/Frederick)  

Wooster freshman Carolyn Webster showcased strong potential by winning the high jump (1.60m) and taking runner-up in the long jump (5.14m) in a dual-meet performance against Oberlin.

Hilary Coady, Wooster
(Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia/Choate Rosemary Hall (Conn.))  

Wooster senior Hilary Coady who finished 13th in the pentathlon at the 2015 NCAA Div. III Championships with 3,318 points, kicked off her senior season by matching that total while finishing fourth at Kent State’s Golden Flashes Gala. The 3,318 points are the most of any NCAA Div. III student-athlete this season, and she outscored six at the meet that featured primarily Div. I competition. Of the 10 competitors, she had the second-fastest time in the 800 meters (2:24.88) and third-best shot put throw (35 feet, 4 inches).

Ana Richardson, Oberlin
(Eugene, OR/South Eugene)  

Oberlin senior Ana Richardson opened 2016 with a pair of throwing victories in the weight throw and shot put. Richardson set a school-record in winning the weight throw with a toss of 16.15m. She followed that performance up with another triumph in the shot put with a mark of 12.13m.

December 7th

 

Lilah Drafts-Johnson, Oberlin
(Melrose, MA/Melrose) 

Oberlin sophomore Lilah Drafts-Johnson turned in a quality second place finish in the women’s 500-meter dash at the unscored Mount Union Toy Drive meet. Drafts-Johnson crossed the line of the two-and a half lap event in 1:22.11.

 

 

Sara Johnson, Ohio Wesleyan
(Dublin, OH/Coffman) 

Ohio Wesleyan senior Sara Johnson turned in the top Division III time in the country to this point in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.93. Johnson also finished sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.62 while competing at the unscored Tiffin Alumni Open.

Monique Newton, Oberlin
(Sacramento, CA/Rancho Cordova)  

Oberlin sophomore Monique Newton recorded a school-record to win the shot put at the unscored Mount Union Toy Drive meet with a mark of 14.29m.
