The Wabash College men's squad and the Ohio Wesleyan women's team captured the 2012 North Coast Athletic Conference team titles on Saturday evening at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Wabash, which won the 2011 team title as well, accumulated 238 total points to edge out Ohio Wesleyan (172) for the team title, while Ohio Wesleyan earned its sixth-straight women's title after earning 192 points to edge out Oberlin (108) for the team title.
Wabash and Ohio Wesleyan were followed in the men's standings by Allegheny (67), DePauw (57.5), Oberlin (54), Wittenberg (49), Denison (42), Wooster (12.5) and Kenyon (10).
Ohio Wesleyan and Oberlin were followed in the women's standings by Kenyon (85), DePauw (81), Wooster (75), Wittenberg (60), Allegheny (58) and Denison (43).
Women's Most Valuable Performers:
Women’s Sprint/Hurdles - Denison Sophomore Tiffany Davis (Madison, TN/Pope John Paul II) took first in both the 60-meter dash (7.85) and the 200-meter dash (25.79), and was a member of the fourth place 4x400-meter relay and the fifth place 4x200-meter relay. Davis' clocking in the 200-meter surpassed former DU graduate Jackie Berner's 2002 NCAC record in the event of 25.82.
Women's Distance - Oberlin sophomore Molly Martorella (Winchendon, MA/Murdock) won the one-mile run with a NCAC record time of 4:58.32 and crossed the line first in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 10:23.73.
Women's Field - Allegheny senior Lauren Butler (New Kensington, PA/Kiski) earned her third consecutive Field Athlete of the Year award after taking first in the shot put with a toss of 12.31 meters and second in the weight throw with a heave of 13.51 meters.

Men's Most Valuable Performers:
Men’s Sprint/Hurdles - Allegheny senior Taylor Throckmorton (Chagrin Falls, OH/Chagrin Falls) won the 400-meter dash with an NCAC record clocking of 49.32, finished second in the 200-meter dash (22.47) and was a member of the fourth place 4x400-meter relay.
Men's Distance - Wabash senior Kevin McCarthy (Zionsville, IN/Zionsville) won both the one-mile run in a NCAC record time of 4:10.46 and was also a member of the winning Distance Medley relay squad that also set the NCAC record with a time of 10:19.12.
Men's Field - Oberlin junior Alex Guo (Tokyo, Japan/American School in Japan) won the men's triple jump with a leap of 13.54 meters and finished second in the long jump with a leap of 6.54 meters.

2012 NCAC Heptathlon/Pentathlon Championships
The first scoring events of the 2012 meet, the men’s
heptathlon and the women’s pentathlon, took place this past
weekend at Ohio Wesleyan. OWU sophomore Andrew Diehl
(Marysville, OH/Marysville) successfully defended his
title in the heptathlon with a 4,465 points, while Battling Bishop
junior Emily Amburgey (Germantown, OH/Preble
Shawnee) won the women’s pentathlon event with 2,732
Team points from this event will be will be factored into next weekend's results toward the final team standings.
