NCAC Winter Sports Weekly Releases - (2-3-14)

NCAC winter sports weekly releases for the week ending on Sunday, February 2nd, which include up-to-date conference standings, weekly schedules, team notes and Player of the Week selections, are now available online.

Men's Basketball
There was some separation at the top of the North Coast men's basketball standings last week as No. 17 Ohio Wesleyan (10-2, 16-3) and No. 5 Wooster (10-2, 16-3) now share the top spot in the league standings following the Battling Bishops' 2-0 week, while No. 23 DePauw (9-3, 14-5) and No. 18 Wittenberg (9-3, 15-4) both dropped a game back in the standings. League play continues this week with three games on Wednesday, two on Friday and five more on Saturday, led by Ohio Wesleyan hosting Wittenberg on Wednesday night. Full Release

Women's Basketball
Ohio Wesleyan (7-4, 12-8) went a perfect 2-0 last week after picking up wins over Wittenberg (5-5, 10-8) and Hiram (1-9, 5-14) last week. The Bishops have won six of their last eight contests and their 12 wins overall are the most since the 2010-11 season when Ohio Wesleyan posted 15 victories. Full Release

Swimming and Diving
North Coast swimming & diving squads concluded their regular season training schedules last weekend with several dual meets featuring league foes. The 2014 NCAC Swimming & Diving Championships are scheduled for February 12-15 at Denison's Trumbull Aquatics Center in Granville, Ohio. A conference-wide preview of the event will be available on Wednesday, February 5th. Full Release

Indoor Track and Field
Wooster hosted a pod of NCAC squads on its campus this past weekend for the Fighting Scots Invitational with Wittenberg taking home the title on the men's side and Allegheny on the women's. The Ohio based NCAC track & field squads will highlight next week's action at the annual All-Ohio Combined Events starting on Friday hosted by Denison. Full Release
