However, that tie will be short-lived as the Scots and Bishops are set to square off next Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in Delaware.

    The race at the top of the North Coast men’s basketball standings tightened last week after No. 9 Denison (11-1, 17-2) dropped its first league game of the season on Saturday against Wittenberg (7-5, 13-6) by a narrow 71-70 margin. The Big Red will again be tested this week as they are set to visit Ohio Wesleyan (10-2, 13-6) on Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m., before returning home for a 3:00 p.m. tip-off against Wooster (10-2, 13-6) on Saturday.
  • NCAC Teams With Soles4Souls Foundation

    The North Coast Athletic Conference men’s and women’s basketball coaches are teaming with the Soles4Souls Foundation to help fight poverty through the distribution of shoes to people in need throughout all 50 states and 127 countries. The goal is for every NCAC basketball player to donate a pair of used shoes after the season and Soles4Souls will collect and distribute the shoes to the various countries.

Zimmerman Memorial Classic in Springfield. The bulk of this week’s schedule features conference contests, highlighted by a battle for first place on Thursday night as No. 24 Denison (4-0, 8-1) will host Ohio Wesleyan (4-0, 7-4) for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff in Granville.

    There was minimal NCAC Men’s Basketball action last week; however, Ohio Wesleyan (4-0, 6-3) jumped into a tie with No. 16 Denison (4-0, 8-1) for the top spot in the league standings following a 96-85 win over Kenyon (1-3, 2-6) on Saturday. Several teams will be competing in tournaments over the holiday break, highlighted by Wittenberg (1-2, 4-3) hosting a Holiday Classic, Wooster (3-2, 5-4) hosting the “Mose” Hole/Kiwanis Classic and DePauw (2-2, 4-5) hosting its annual Tampa Bay Shootout in Florida. The league portion of the 2016-17 schedule picks back up in earnest on the first week in January, led by Denison hosting Ohio Wesleyan on January 5th and Wittenberg traveling to Hiram (2-2, 3-6) on January 7th.
