2016-17 Men's Basketball All-America Teams -- NABC

Ohio Wesleyan junior Nate Axelrod (Dublin, OH/Coffman) was named to a pair of All-America teams last week for his performance during the 2016-17 season.

Axelrod, the two-time NCAC Player of the Year, was a second-team selection by both the National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) and

Axelrod ranked fourth in the NCAC in scoring and led the league in assists with averages of 17.6 points and 4.7 assists per game.  He also led the NCAC in assist/turnover ratio (2.4:1) and ranked fourth in three-point field goals (2.0/game), ninth in free throw percentage (.767), 10th in steals (1.2/game) and 14th in field goal percentage (.459). 

He was also a second-team All-America selection and was named the Great Lakes Region Player of the Year by in 2015-16 and was's Division III Rookie of the Year in 2014-15. This is also his second-straight appearance on the NABC All-America team after earning third-team laurels in 2015-16. He has also been a first-team All-NCAC selection in his first three years at OWU.
