The North Coast Athletic Conference men’s and women’s basketball coaches are teaming with the Soles4Souls Foundation to help fight poverty through the distribution of shoes to people in need throughout all 50 states and 127 countries. The goal is for every NCAC basketball player to donate a pair of used shoes after the season and Soles4Souls will collect and distribute the shoes to the various countries.
The event is organized by Next Basketball Foundation and Denison University men’s basketball coach Bob Ghiloni who serves as a board member for the foundation.
“Soles4Souls is a tremendous organization that not only provides shoes and clothing for people in need but promotes awareness of global poverty,” Ghiloni said. “This event is a huge help to those people but also good for the NCAC student-athletes’ experience and growth process as young people.”
Soles4Souls is a not-for-profit global social enterprise committed to fighting poverty through the collection and distribution of shoes and clothing.
