Ohio Wesleyan junior Steven Hildebrand (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga) and Wooster freshman Shaun Peirce (North Attleboro, MA/Bishop Feehan) were both named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Team of the Week for games played between March 19-25.
This marks the third time this season that multiple players from the NCAC have been named to the USILA Team of the Week.
Hildebrand racked up four goals and three assists during the first quarter as then-15th/16th-ranked Ohio Wesleyan built a 9-1 lead on the way to a 21-10 NCAC win over Kenyon on Saturday. He led the Bishops with six goals and three assists, while also adding four ground balls in the win.
Peirce, who was also named the NCAC's Player of the Week on Monday, had a hand in 10 of Wooster's 24 goals in a 24-13 win over Hiram on Saturday, including the first four in the final period. Peirce passed out two of his four assists to start the final stanza, and followed that up with Wooster's next two goals. Earlier in the game, the he secured his hat trick just before halftime with his third goal coming with five seconds left in the second period. For the week, Peirce finished with seven goals and six assists, thanks to a one-goal, two-assist showing in Wooster's mid-week tilt at Saint John Fisher.
The USILA Team of the Week is made up of 10 players, regardless of positions, and chosen by a selection committee each week.
