Denison (2-0), Oberlin (1-0), Wooster (1-0), Kenyon (2-1) and Ohio Wesleyan (2-1) are the five NCAC squads over .500 after another week of non-conference play. Going into the final week of non-conference action before league play begins on March 10th, all nine league teams will be in action this week, highlighted by No. 1 Salisbury visiting Ohio Wesleyan on Sunday. 

DENISON, ranked fourth in the most recent USILA poll, improved to 2-0 after an 11-10 win over No. 15 Stevenson on Sunday. Peter Pittroff (Charlotte, NC/Charlotte Country Day) scored the game-winning goal with eight seconds left in regulation helping DU to its second-straight win over a ranked opponent. Denison will host No. 18 Roanoke on Sunday.

DEPAUW evened its record at 1-1 after a 22-3 win over Kalamazoo. Ben Sherman (Zionsville, IN/Zionsville) led the Tigers with five goals and three assists, while Quinn Roddy (Glencoe, IL/Loyola Academy) added four goals.

HIRAM kicked off its 2018 season with a 16-11 loss against Chatham on Saturday. Three different Terriers totaled four points each, including sophomore Hunter Jenkins (Solon, OH/Solon) (2g/2a), sophomore Tim Stucky (Bellbrook, OH/Bellbrook) (3g/1a) and senior Nick Rollason (Pickerington, OH/Pickerington North) (4g). Junior keeper Keagan Finegan (Wadsworth, OH/Wadsworth) tallied 13 saves in the loss.

KENYON split a pair of games last week to move its early-season record to 2-1. Kenyon fell at Ohio Northern in overtime, 10-9, before winning its home opener against Capital, 14-11. In the victory over Capital, Pierce Kraft (Philadelphia, PA/William Penn Charter) scored a career-high four goals.

OBERLIN opened its 2018 season with a 19-3 victory at Adrian Saturday afternoon. Fourteen different Yeomen registered goals in the contest led by freshman Tom Decker (Bethesda, MD/Maret School) tallying six points with three goals and assists in his first collegiate game. Oberlin also had a strong performance from Decker’s classmate and face-off specialist Max McAllister (San Francisco, CA/Urban School of SF) who won 18-of-21 on the day with 14 ground balls.

OHIO WESLEYAN improved its record to 2-1 following a pair of victories last week against Otterbein and Messiah. Junior attacker Max Tennant (Englewood, CO/Cherry Creek) scored both game-winning goals on the week for the Bishops, including the OT winner against Messiah. On the week, Tennant finished with seven goals and one assist for eight total points.

WABASH picked up a home victory on Sunday over Wilmington in a 19-6 contest. The Little Giants shutout the Quakers over the final 28 minutes of the match, outscoring Wilmington, 10-0, during that stretch for the victory. Junior attacker Steven Stark (Indianapolis, IN/Cathedral) broke the school record for points in a game by scoring six goals with four assists for a total of 10 points.

WITTENBERG dropped its lone contest last week, falling to Ill. Wesleyan, 26-12. Sophomore Noah Moderwell (Libertyville, IL/Libertyville) scored four goals in the loss.

WOOSTER opened the season with a 10-7 win over 2017 NCAA Div. III Championships qualifier Albion on Sunday afternoon. The Scots broke the game open with a six-goal third period with the Kuhn brothers accounting for five of the scores. For the game, senior Sam Kuhn (Towson, MD/Loyola Blakefield) led the way with four goals, while sophomore Wesley Wagner (Collegeville, PA/Cardinal Gibbons (NC)) logged 14 saves.
