    Kenyon (16-4-3) knocked off two nationally-ranked opponents in as many days to advance to the sectional round of the 2013 NCAA Div. III Men’s Soccer Tournament, while Ohio Wesleyan (19-1-3) and Oberlin (16-4-3) where both eliminated from the national tournament in the second round.

    The Oberlin men's soccer team blanked SUNY Oneonta, 2-0, Saturday night in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship in Rochester, New York. The Yeomen (14-3-4) will now take on host Rochester (14-2-2) at 5 p.m. Sunday in the second round.

    The Kenyon men's soccer team blanked Ohio Northern, 2-0, Friday night in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship at Wheaton College. The Lords (15-4-3) will now take on host Wheaton (17-3-2) at 5 p.m. (CST) Saturday in the second round.

    North Coast Athletic Conference tournament champion Ohio Wesleyan (19-0-3) extended its NCAA-record by earning its 36th berth into the 61-team NCAA Div. III Men’s Soccer Tournament, while Kenyon (14-4-3) and Oberlin (13-3-4) earned a berth into the tournament field with two of the 19 at-large bids. 2013 marks the first time since 1993 the North Coast will be represented by three teams in the national field.
  • Oberlin Receives $8 Million Gift from Austin E. Knowlton Foundation to Create New Athletics Complex

    Oberlin College has received an $8 million gift from the Austin E. Knowlton Foundation to create a new, multipurpose athletics complex that is positioned to be one of the finest Division III facilities in the country. The Austin E. Knowlton Athletics Complex at Oberlin College will be named in honor of the late Ohio businessman who created the foundation through his estate to support colleges and universities throughout the Midwest.
  • Seven NCAC Soccer Players Named To Academic All-District Squad

    Eight North Coast Athletic Conference student-athletes have been named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District Soccer Squad, released by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). All eight student-athletes were first-team honorees and will now advance to the Academic All-America soccer ballots.

    Ohio Wesleyan (18-0-2, 7-0-2) earned its sixth-straight North Coast championship with a pair of wins last week. The Battling Bishops defeated Denison and Hiram, both 2-0, to collect their league-leading 22nd conference title. Kenyon has won the second most conference crowns with six, followed by Wooster (3), Denison (2) and Wittenberg (1).

    Heading into the final week of the regular season, Ohio Wesleyan (16-0-2, 5-0-2) and Kenyon (12-3-2, 5-0-2) are deadlocked at the top of the standings with 17 points apiece. North Coast action continues on Wednesday as all 10 conference teams are in action with every point becoming critical as the 2013 NCAC Tournament is set to begin on November 6th. The complete tournament bracket will be available following the conclusion of Saturday’s matches.

    Oberlin (12-1-2, 4-0-1) is currently riding an 11-game unbeaten streaking, including a six-game winning streak, and is just one win shy of trying the school record for wins set back in 1988 after knocking off No. 11 DePauw (12-2-1, 3-2-1), 1-0, over the weekend. Another full slate of North Coast action is scheduled for this week with four games Tuesday and five Saturday including, Oberlin hosting top-ranked Ohio Wesleyan (16-0-0, 5-0-0).

    Top-ranked Ohio Wesleyan (14-0-0, 3-0-0) moved to the top of the North Coast standings after picking up an impressive, 3-1, road victory over No. 10 DePauw (11-1-1, 2-1-1) to hand the Tigers their first loss of the season. The win has the Bishops off to their best start since 2005. A busy week of North Coast action continues with five games scheduled for both Wednesday and Saturday.

    DePauw (11-0-1, 2-0-1), Ohio Wesleyan (13-0-0, 2-0-0), Oberlin (8-1-2, 1-0-1) and Kenyon (8-3-1, 1-0-1) remained unbeaten in conference play through the quarter pole of the North Coast schedule. In a relatively light week of conference action, a top-ten matchup is scheduled for Saturday, as top-ranked Ohio Wesleyan will travel to Greencastle to square off against No. 10 DePauw.

Conference play continues this week with two games Friday and three on Saturday.

This weekend features five conference tilts on Saturday as Oberlin (4-1-1, 0-0-0) travels to Wittenberg (4-4-0, 0-0-0), DePauw (9-0-0, 1-0-0) will face Kenyon (6-2-0, 0-0-0) in Greencastle and Denison (7-0-1, 0-0-0) travels to Allegheny (4-2-2, 0-0-0) . The final two NCAC contests pit Wabash (2-4-1, 0-0-0) against Hiram (2-6-1, 0-1-0) in Hiram, while Wooster (1-4-1, 0-0-0) travels to Ohio Wesleyan (9-0-0, 0-0-0).
