November 5th

Tony Halterman, DePauw
(Dyer, IN/Lake Central)

DePauw senior goalie Tony Halterman in 200 minutes, allowed two goals to Hiram with seven saves and recorded him ninth individual shutout in the game with Ohio Wesleyan with six saves including one big stop in penalty kick session to lead the Tigers to the NCAC Tournament Championship.

Matt Capozzi, Oberlin

Oberlin senior midfielder Matt Capozzi  ended his Yeomen career in grand fashion, scoring game-winning goals in each of his last two games in a Yeomen uniform. He netted the game’s goal in a 1-0 decision at Allegheny and then in the closing minutes against Wooster he lifted the Yeomen to victory with his third goal of the season.

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore midfielder Colton Bloecher powered the Bishops’ offense last week with three goals and an assist as Ohio Wesleyan picked up two huge NCAC wins. He scored the game’s only goal in a win over Oberlin on Tuesday before notching two goals and an assist as Ohio Wesleyan handed Allegheny its first NCAC loss of the season, 3-0, on Saturday.

Kenyon sophomore defender Sam Justice powered the Lords’ offense last week with his first two goals of the season. His goal versus Hiram held up as the game-winner and handed the Terriers their first loss of the 2012 season.

DePauw freshman midfielder Alieu Musa notched his first and second goals’ of his career on Saturday as he helped the Tigers defeat the 13th-ranked Ohio Wesleyan in overtime. Finding the ball at his feet in the ninth-minute of overtime, Musa found an opening and scored the golden goal to register his second goal of the game and first game winning score of his young collegiate career.

Hiram senior midfielder Ryan Greenhill played a part in all three Terrier goals this past week assisting on both goals as Hiram knocked off St. Vincent on the road in a midweek non-conference contest and notched the lone goal in the 1-1 tie against the defending National Champions Ohio Wesleyan. Greenhill and the Terriers are off to a 9-0-1 start, 1-0-1 in NCAC play.

David DelGreco, Allegheny

Allegheny senior David DelGreco caught fire last week for the Gators, scoring four goals in three matches, including two against nationally-ranked opponents. DelGreco found the back of the net in the 28th minute to give Allegheny a 2-0 lead over No. 21 Baldwin Wallace, helping the Gators to 3-1 victory. DelGreco then converted a penalty kick with 31 seconds left remaining in regulation, scoring his second goal of the match to force overtime in a 2-2 tie against Wittenberg that opened the NCAC season for the Gators. DelGreco finished the week with a sixth minute goal against No. 17 Berry in a 3-1 win. DelGreco currently leads the team with eight goals and 13 points.

Hiram junior midfielder Andy Harding led the Terriers to a 3-0-0 week with six goals and one assist for 13 points, including the game-winning OT goal against John Carroll on Sunday afternoon. Harding scored the game-winning goal just 40 seconds into the first overtime period to keep Hiram undefeated at 7-0-0 on the year.

September 10th

Denison junior forward Blake Miller logged five points on the week after scoring a pair of goals and assisting on another in three starts.  With 1:13 left in the second overtime period at Capital, Miller tapped a cross from Ryan Fine into the back of the net to give the Big Red its third-straight win.  With the score tied at 1-1 against Elizabethtown on Saturday, Miller once again found the back of the net.  The junior took a crossing pass from Collin Hockenbury and buried a shot into the lower right 90 in the 65th minute.  Roughly 15 minutes later, Miller assisted on an insurance goal scored by JJ Dix. Miller has now scored 11 points in the last four matches dating back to his hat trick in his hometown, at Otterbein.  He currently leads the conference in goals (5) and points (11).

DePauw junior midfielder George Elliot led the Tigers to a 2-0-0 week with two goals including Friday’s game-winner in double OT to knock off 20th ranked Hope. Elliot settled a blocked cross 10 yards from the left post and chipped the ball over a diving Dutchman keeper for the game-winner.
