2017 All-NCAC Men's Tennis Team

Wooster junior Titas Bera (North Potomac, MD/Wootton) has been named the Player of the Year and the Denison sophomore duo of Kevin Brown (Perrysburg, OH/St. John's Jesuit) and Blake Burstein (Birmingham, MI/Detroit Country Day) have been named the Doubles Team of the Year to highlight the 2016 All-North Coast Athletic Conference men's tennis team.

Bera, who is also making his first-career appearance on the first team after earning second-team laurels in both 2015 and '16, was a mainstay in the top singles position for the Scots all season with an overall record of 18-9 and a 14-8 mark in dual matches. Bera also provided several key doubles wins for Wooster throughout the season with sophomore Jesse DeWitt (Brooksville, FL/Nature Coast Technical) as the duo finished the campaign with a 13-9 record in the second flight in dual matches. Bera is the first Wooster men's player to earn the NCAC's top honor since Nilesh Saldhana collected the award in 2003.

Brown and Burstein were crowned as the NCAC's inaugural Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Year after posting an 11-5 record in the top flight this season, which included a perfect 7-0 mark against NCAC opponents in regular season matches.

Oberlin senior Ian Paik (Portland, OR/Sunset) is the only four-time All-NCAC singles player on this year's team, earning first-team laurels in each of the last three years, to go along with a second team nod in 2014.

DU's Brown and DePauw senior Dan Rodefeld (Carmel, IN/Carmel) were both named to the top singles team for the second year in a row, while Wittenberg junior Martin Mora (Quito, Ecuador) and Kenyon freshman Jacob Zalenski (Canton, OH/Jackson) make their All-NCAC debut on the first team this season.

Brown and Burstein were joined on the top doubles team by Oberlin's Paik and fellow senior Jeremy Lichtmacher (San Francisco, CA/Balboa), and the Wabash duo of junior William Reifeis (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) and sophomore Patrick McAuley (Indianapolis, IN/North Central).

Kenyon's Zalenski was also named the 2017 NCAC Men's Tennis Newcomer of the Year after finishing the dual match season with a 13-8 record, which included a 10-6 mark in the second flight. He also posted an even 10-10 mark in doubles play, which included a 6-5 record in the second flight with sophomore Nicholas Paolucci (Grosse Pointe, MI/South).

Finally, Oberlin head coach Eric Ishida was named the NCAC Men's Tennis Coach for the second time in the last three years after leading the Yeomen to their best finish at the NCAC Championships since the 2003-04 season. The Ishida-led Yeomen entered the NCAC Championships with an overall record of 14-9, and they closed out the three-day event with a 2-1 mark, which included the program's first win over Denison since 1974 with a 5-2 victory over the Big Red in the third-place match.
