Eight NCAC Players Named To NFCA All-Central Region

Led by first-team selections Julie Rooney (Munroe Falls, OH/Stow-Munroe Falls) and Lauren Secaras (Wilmette, IL/New Trier) of Denison, the NCAC had eight student-athletes selected to the 2015 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Central Region Softball Team.

Rooney {right}, a four-time All-NCAC honoree and two-time first-team all-conference selection, was a first-team selection after hitting .459 with 62 hits, 44 runs scored, 16 doubles and 84 total bases during her senior year. Secaras, who earned first-team All-NCAC honors as a freshman joined Rooney as an All-Central Region first-team seclection aftr posting a .431 batting average with 37 RBI, 16 runs scored and 14 doubles.

DePauw junior
Linsey Button (Ballwin, MO/Lafayette), who earned NCAC Player of the Year and first-team All-Conference honors for the third-straight season, was named to the second-team. Button was joined by her Tigers’ teammate, freshman Emma Baldwin (Oak Park, IL/Oak Park River Forest).

Sammi Bell (Columbia, MO/Rock Bridge Sr.), Allegheny senior Caitlin Nealer (New Kensington, PA/Valley), DePauw senior Kahla Nolan (West Chicago, IL/Wheaton North) and Wittenberg freshman Chelsea Zang (Cincinnati, OH/Seton) were third-team selections.
