  • Eight Student-Athletes Named Academic All-America

    Led by first-team selections Hannah Cooper (Houston, TX/Memorial), Haley Townsend (Greenwood, IN/Center Grove) and Arthur Conover (Oakland, ME/Messalonskee) of Kenyon, the NCAC had eight student-athletes selected to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-American Division III At-Large Team.

    The 2015 Capital Once Academic All-District At-Large Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), was announced on May 14th with the North Coast placing eight student-athletes on the list.

  • KC Men Win 34th National Title; DU Men & Women 2nd

    For the third year in a row, the Kenyon men topped Denison in the final team standings to capture its NCAA-record 34th Division III National Title with 468 points on Saturday night at the 2015 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, held at the CISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas. In final women’s standings, Emory captured its sixth-straight national crown with 603 points, while Denison was the top NCAC finisher in second with 457.5 points.

    Kenyon junior diver Maria Zarka (Kanoehe, HI/Kalaheo) captured the national title in the women’s one-meter diving competition to highlight NCAC competitors on Friday night at the 2015 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, held at the CISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas.
  • NCAC Athletes Add 5 More National Titles On Night 2

    National championship performances were the name of the game on Thursday night for North Coast swimmers and divers at the 2015 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships as league student-athletes opened the night with four-straight titles in the 200 free relays and 400 IM events, and later tacked on the fifth championship of the night in the men’s one-meter diving competition.

    Thirteen NCAC student-athletes participated in the 2015 NCAA Division III Diving Regionals, held last weekend, February 27-28. Divers from Denison, DePauw, Kenyon and Wittenberg competed at the Region I event held at the University of Chicago’s Myers-McLoraine Pool, while Allegheny divers traveled to New York for the Region 4 event, held at SUNY-Geneseo’s Alumni Pool.

Kenyon earned a pair of dual meet sweeps against Ohio Wesleyan and Wittenberg, while Denison also logged a pair of wins over Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday. The 2015 NCAC Swimming & Diving Championships are scheduled to take place at Denison’s Trumbull Aquatics Center in Granville, Ohio, February 11-14. A complete preview of the nation’s top Division III conference championship meet will be available on Wednesday, February 4th.

    While numerous North Coast swimming & diving squads wrapped up the regular season portion of their schedules last week, a handful of league teams will conclude their training schedules this weekend, led by Ohio Wesleyan hosting Kenyon on Friday and Wittenberg traveling to Kenyon on Saturday. The 2015 NCAC Swimming & Diving Championships are scheduled for February 11-14 at Denison’s Trumbull Aquatics Center in Granville, Ohio. A conference-wide preview of the event will be available next Wednesday, February 4th.

    After Wittenberg University senior diver Eric Roberts (Willits, CA/Willits) suffered a frightening injury in the 3-meter competition at the Transylvania University Invitational on Saturday, his teammates and coaches sprang into action and worked closely with training staff at the University of Kentucky to ensure his safety.

    With every North Coast swimming & diving team idle in the coming week for the Thanksgiving Holiday, several squads wrapped up the fall portions of their schedules last week at invitational events, highlighted by the Ohio Wesleyan men and women sweeping the team championships at their annual Corbiere-Merion Invitational, held in Delaware, Nov. 21-22.

    North Coast swimming & diving action was highlighted last weekend by Kenyon sweeping Denison in a dual meet on Saturday morning in Granville, Ohio. The Lords posted a 170-130 win over the Big Red, while the Ladies topped DU by a 166-128 margin.

    North Coast swimming & diving teams took to the pool last weekend for numerous dual meet matchups, highlighted by Oberlin, Wittenberg and Wooster sweeping both ends of NCAC duals against Hiram, Ohio Wesleyan and Oberlin, respectively. League squads return to action this weekend with more dual meets on the schedule, led by Denison traveling to Columbus, Ohio, on Friday and Saturday to take on Ohio State and Princeton.
