The Kenyon swimming duo of senior Wes Manz (Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) and senior Hannah Cooper (Houston, TX/Memorial) were recently chosen as recipients of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.
Both individuals will receive a one-time, non-renewable scholarship of $7,500 to help finance graduate school education.
Manz is the 28th Lords swim member to receive the scholarship. He will be starting a two-year Master's program at the Indiana University School of Public Health in the fall (in Exercise Physiology), with the intent of pursing either a PhD or MD afterwards. Manz wrapped up his swimming career back in March as he helped the Lords claim their 34th NCAA Division III national title. He was a part of two NCAA record-breaking relay teams (200 medley, 200 free) during the four-day event.
Kenyon's other postgraduate scholarship recipient is Cooper. She's the 27th member from the Ladies program to earn funding for her graduate studies. In the fall she will be attending St. Mary's University, Twickenham in London where she will spend a year earning her Master's in sports psychology. Upon graduation, she hopes to apply to get a PhD in clinical psychology. In the pool, Cooper was a part of the national champion and NCAA-record 200-yard medley relay team at the D3 Championships. Cooper earned seven All-America awards over her career.
