Ohio Wesleyan freshman Andrew Diehl won the NCAC Decathlon title at last weekend’s NCAC Multi-Event Championships. He scored 5,543 points.

April 25th

Makorobondo "Dee" Salukombo, Denison
(Lakewood, OH/Lakewood)


Denison junior Makorobondo Salukombo  posted an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time in the 1500 meters at the Jesse Owens Invitational. His time of 3:53.28 gave him ninth place.

 

Taylor Throckmorton, Allegheny
(Chagrin Falls, OH/Chagrin Falls)


Allegheny junior Taylor Throckmorton was the top NCAC finisher in both the 200 and 400 meters at the Sparky Adams Invite. He was second in the 400 (49.40) and eighth in the 200 (22.84).

 

Alex Guo, Oberlin
(Brooklyn, NY/American School in Japan)


Oberlin sophomore Alex Guo won the triple jump (21-4.25) and was sixth in the long jump (45-6.5) at the Adams Invitational. His leap in the triple was the best of his career.

April 18th

Tony Dipre, Allegheny
(Twinsburg, OH/Walsh Jesuit)


Allegheny senior Tony Dipre finished fifth in the 1500 meters at the Bison Outdoor Track & Field Classic, hosted by Bucknell. His time of 3:50.84 was an NCAA provisional qualifying mark, and is the second-fastest time in NCAA Division III this season.

 

Wes Chamblee, Wabash
(South Bend, IN/St. Joseph’s)


Wabash senior Wes Chamblee won the 200 meters in 22.48, and was part of the second-place 4x400-meter relay (3:17.88), at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Invitational.

 

Matt Schellar, Wabash
(Wadesville, IN/North Posey)


Wabash senior Matt Schellar won the hammer with a meet-record heave of 165 feet, 10 inches at the Rose-Hulman Twilight meet, and also took first in the shot put (47 feet, 3.5 inches).

April 11th

OBE - Schild

Ben Schlid, Oberlin
(Prescott, AZ/Prescott)


Oberlin junior Ben Schlid finished second in the 5,000 meters at the Marv Frye Invitational. He finished with a time of 15:13.19.

 

OWU - Freet

Ethan Freet, Ohio Wesleyan
(London, OH/London)


Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Ethan Freet was second in the 400-meter hurdles at the Marv Frye Invitational. His time of 55.91 met the NCAA provisional qualifying mark. He was also part of the first-place 4x400 relay and the third-place 4x100 relay.

 

WAB - Ambrosio

Daniel Ambrosio, Wabash
(Apache Junction, AZ/Apache Junction)


Wabash junior Daniel Ambrosio won the javelin at the Miami (OH) Invitational. His heave of 55.91 meters/183 feet, 5 inches topped a field of 25 competitors, and was his best effort of the season.

April 4th

Shane Brandt, Ohio Wesleyan
(Painesville, OH/Riverside)


Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Shane Brandt was the fifth NCAA Division III runner to finish the 1500 meters at Princeton’s Sam Howell Memorial Invitational. He was 29th overall with a time of 3:58.56.

 

Shawn Chrapczynski, Oberlin
(Lorain, OH/Amherst Steele)


Oberlin junior Shawn Chrapczynski placed 12th in the 100 meters (11.13 seconds) and sixth in the 200 meters (22.40) at the Washington (MO) Invitational. 

 

Josh Gallagher, Oberlin
(West Harrison, NY/Harrison)


Oberlin senior Josh Gallagher placed second in the shot put (14.43m/47 feet, 4.25 inches), second in the discus (44.75m/146-10) and was fourth in the hammer (45.31m/148-8) at the Washington Invitational. His effort in the hammer was a school record.

March 28th

WAB - McCarthy

Kevin McCarthy, Wabash
(Zionsville, IN/Zionsville)


Wabash junior Kevin McCarthy won the steeplechase at the Rhodes Invitational with a time of 9:21.05. It was the second time in his career that he competed in the event, and he posted an NCAA provisional qualifying time.

 

WAB - Smothers

Charles Smothers, Wabash
(Jefferson, GA/Jackson County)


Wabash freshman Charles Smothers won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.25 seconds at the Rhodes Invitational. He bested a 35-man field to win the event.

 

WAB - Ambrosio

Daniel Ambrosio, Wabash
(Apache Junction, AZ/Apache Junction)


Wabash junior Daniel Ambrosio won the javelin with a throw of 53.60 meters/175 feet, 10 inches, at the Yellow Jacket Open Invitational, hosted by Cedarville.

Wabash senior Matt Scheller posted the top efforts in both the shot put (47-2) and the hammer throw (166-8) at the Huntsman Relays, hosted by Wabash. He set a meet record in the hammer.
