Wabash junior Joey Conti took first in the 400-meter dash at the Bellarmine Classic in Kentucky after breaking the tape in 48.82.

Matt Hunter, Ohio Wesleyan

Ohio Wesleyan junior Matt Hunter won the NCAC Outdoor Track & Field decathlon for the second year in a row after totaling 6,347 points at Kenyon last weekend.

Wittenberg sophomore Laike Wallace won the 400-meter hurdles to lead the Tigers to a sixth-place finish at the Kenyon Spring Invitational. Wallace broke the tape with a winning time of 53.82.

Cameron Day, Allegheny
(Muncy, PA/Hughesville)

Allegheny senior Cameron Day posted the best effort by an NCAC student-athlete this spring in the javelin on Saturday at the non-scoring Baldwin Wallace Sparky Adams Invitational. Day finished second overall in the event with a toss of 191’08.00”.

Geno Arthur, Oberlin
(Camarillo, CA/Rio Mesa)

Oberlin sophomore Geno Arthur shined for the Yeomen at the non-scoring Bucknell Outdoor Classic on Saturday in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. He finished 17th overall in the seeded 5,000-meter run with a school-record time of 14:49.01.

Justin Yates, Wittenberg
(Dayton, OH/Bellbrook)

Wittenberg junior Justin Yates posted a record-setting effort to lead the Tigers at the All-Ohio Championships. He broke the school record and tied the All-Ohio Championship-record in the 400-meter dash with a winning time of 47.90.

Kyle Mackey, DePauw
(Danville, IN/Danville)

DePauw senior Kyle Mackey won the pole vault competition to lead the Tigers to a fourth-place finish at the Indiana Div. III Championship. His winning leap of 15’10.00” is a personal-best and also the seventh-best effort by a Div. III student-athlete this spring.

Zak Geiger, Ohio Wesleyan
(New Concord, OH/John Glenn)

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Zak Geiger led all NCAC runners in the 1,500-meter run at OWU’s own Marv Frye Invitational by finishing third overall with a time of 4:02.24. The Bishops won the team title at the event with 154 points.

Laike Wallace, Wittenberg
(Washington Court House, OH/Washington)

Wittenberg sophomore Laike Wallace broke the tape in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.70 to lead the Tigers at their own Invitational on Saturday. Wittenberg finished third out of seven teams at the event with 111 points.

Trevor Young, Wabash
(Indianapolis, IN/Southport)

Wabash senior Trevor Young broke the school record in the pole vault competition at the DePauw Invitational with a winning leap of 16’00.75”. Young’s effort is the top height achieved by an NCAC student-athlete this season and also ranks fourth across the entire Div. III.

Ben Plohr, Allegheny
(Penobscot, ME/George Stevens Acad.)

Allegheny sophomore Ben Plohr helped lead the Gators to a second-place finish at the Carnegie Mellon Mini-Invite by breaking the tape in the 800-meter run in 1:53.77. His time leads all NCAC runners in the event this spring and ranks fourth among runners across Division III.

Joel Whittington, Wabash
(Terre Haute, IN/Northview)

Wabash junior Joel Whittington was victorious in the 400-meter hurdles (54.04) at the Vanderbilt Black & Gold Open in Nashville, Tennessee. Whittington’s winning time tops the NCAC list in the event and is also fourth among Div. III runners this spring.

Mike Petro, Allegheny
(Bolivar, PA/Ligonier Valley)

Allegheny junior Mike Petro broke a seven-year old school record in the hammer throw at the Carnegie Mellon Mini-Invite with a winning toss of 179’02.00”. His winning distance also broke the CMU meet record and ranks as the top throw by an NCAC student-athlete this season.

March 24th

Sam Lagasse, Kenyon
(Woodbridge, CT/Westhill)

Kenyon senior Sam Lagasse placed 14th among 94 runners in the 5,000-meter race at the Charlotte 49er Classic. His time of 14:53.16 smashed Kenyon's previous record of 15:00.47 set by Kaleb Keyserling during the 2009 season.

Colin McShane, Ohio Wesleyan
(Columbus, OH/Olentangy)

Ohio Wesleyan freshman Colin McShane continued his outstanding rookie campaign by turning in a 100-meter time of 10.89 at the non-scoring Charlotte 49er Classic.

Alex Presley, Ohio Wesleyan
(Zanesville, OH/Maysville)

Ohio Wesleyan freshman Alex Presley posted two top-10 finishes at the Charlotte 49er Classic. He finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 50'02.00" and placed eighth in the discus with an effort of 152'01.00".
