Denison junior Zach Cove won a pair of events last Friday night to lead the Big Red at their own Invitational in Granville. Cove broke the tape in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.34 and also ran a leg on the winning 4x400-meter relay team that finished with a time of 3:31.54.

Ohio Wesleyan senior Aaron Port won the 2016 NCAC Outdoor Track & Field Decathlon last weekend at Oberlin after totaling an NCAC-record score of 6,585 points.

Ohio Wesleyan freshman Kevin Jones finished 11th in the 800-meter run at the Jesse Owens Classic, hosted by The Ohio State University, after crossing the line in 1:53.08.

Matt Dickerson, Jr, Wabash
(Greenfield, IN/Greenfield) 
 

Wabash senior Matt Dickerson, Jr captured the top spot in the 110-meter hurdles by crossing the finish line in 15.30 to help lead the Little Giants to a second-place finish at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet.

Matt Margida, Wooster
(Hudson, OH/Hudson)
  

Wooster senior Matt Margida won the shot put with a mark of 14.63 meters and finished second in the discus (41.95m) to help guide the Fighting Scots to a fifth-place finish at the Kenyon Spring Invite.

Oberlin senior Geno Arthur shined for the Yeomen at the non-scoring Bucknell Outdoor Classic on Saturday in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. He finished eighth overall in the seeded 10,000-meter run with a school-record time of 29:54.17. 

Colin McShane, Ohio Wesleyan
(Columbus, OH/Olentangy) 
 

Ohio Wesleyan junior Colin McShane earned All-Ohio honors after running a leg on the winning 4x100 relay team (41.46) to help lead the Bishops to their second-straight outdoor All-Ohio team title. McShane also turned in a third-place finish in the 400-meters (49.27) and seventh in the 200-meters (22.25).

Marcus Dozier, DePauw

DePauw senior Marcus Dozier won a pair of events at the All-Indiana Division III Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship to earn Male Field Athlete of the Meet. Dozier won both the discus (57.13m) and shot put (15.75m). His mark in the discus currently ranks number one in Div. III.

Ohio Wesleyan senior Nathan Madonich turned in a lifetime best in the 5,000-meters to help the Bishops win the Marv Frye Invitational, crossing the line in 15:27. Madonich was the top NCAC athlete in the event.

Ifa Abduljelil, Ohio Wesleyan
(Whitehall, OH/Whitehall-Yearling)  

Ohio Wesleyan junior Ifa Abduljelil led the Bishops at the Marv Frye Invitational by winning both hurdle events. He crossed the line in the 100-meters in 15.07 and the 400-meters in 56.90.

Ohio Wesleyan senior Aaron Port finished first at the All-Ohio combined events meet despite difficult conditions with a winning total of 5,898 points to earn All-Ohio honors.

John Sotos, Ohio Wesleyan

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore John Sotos turned in a top-10 finish at the non-scored High Point Vertklasse Meeting, finishing sixth in the 1,500-meters with a time of 3:59.59.

Adam Turner, Ohio Wesleyan

Ohio Wesleyan senior Adam Turner led the Bishops at the non-scored High Point Vertklasse Meeting with a seventh-place finish in the 400-meters (49.30) and a 20th in the 200-meters (22.42).

Wabash senior Matthew Dickerson Jr. scored a total of 6,225 points in ten events to cruise to the decathlon title at the inaugural Knight Invitational last weekend. 

March 28th

 

Zach Munn, Denison
(Concord, MA/Concord-Carlise)  

Denison sophomore Zach Munn helped guide the Big Red to a third-place finish at the Carnegie Mellon Mini-Invite following a seventh-place effort in the 800-meters. He crossed the line in 1:59.33. 

Laike Wallace, Wittenberg
(Washington Court House, OH/Washington) 
 

Wittenberg senior Laike Wallace finished first in the 400-meter hurdles to lead the Tigers to a fourth-place finish at the Cedarville Yellow Jackets Open, breaking the tape in 54.61. Wallace also earned second place honors in the 110 meter-hurdles at 15.38 seconds.

Ahmed Abdel Halim, Ohio Wesleyan
(Toledo, OH/Ottawa Hills) 
 

Ohio Wesleyan senior Amhed Abdel Halim won both the long and triple jump with marks of 6.84m and 14.57m respectively at the Cedarville Yellow Jackets Open. The mark in the triple jump set a new school record, which had previously been set back in 2000.

Sam Lagasse, Kenyon
(Woodbridge, CT/Westhill) 
 

Kenyon senior Sam Lagasse competed at the unscored UNC Charlotte 49ers Classic and clocked a 14:44.75 in the 5,000-meter race which was good for eighth among 87 runners. The time also supplanted his previous Kenyon record of 14:53.16, which was set in the 2014 season.

Laike Wallace, Wittenberg
(Washington Court House, OH/Washington) 
 

Wittenberg senior Laike Wallace finished second in the 400-meter hurdles to lead the Tigers to a 15th-place finish at the Emory Invitational. Wallace broke the tape in 53.38 which is good enough for the best Div. III time currently in the country.

(Fort Wayne, IN/Carroll) 
 

Wittenberg senior Justin Fisher placed sixth in the tripe jump with a leap of 13.84m at the Emory Invitational. The mark is currently tops in the nation among Div. III athletes.
