Wabash junior Hayden Baehl won the men’s 800-meter run at the Hillsdale College Gina Relays with a career-best time of 1:53.84.

Nate Newman, Ohio Wesleyan

Ohio Wesleyan junior Nate Newman won the 2017 NCAC men’s decathlon title for the second time in his career after accumulating 6,381 total points over the two days of competition. He also won the league title in the event as a freshman in 2015.

April 24th

 

Brian Lief, Wooster
(Shaker Hts., OH/Shaker Heights) 
 

Wooster sophomore Brian Lief won the 800-meters in 1:58.34 and ran a leg on the fifth-place 4x400 relay team to led the Scots to the team title at the Kenyon Invite.  

James Tanford, Oberlin
(Bloomington, IN/Bloomington South) 
 

Oberlin junior James Tanford won the 200-meter dash in 22.75 and finshed second in the 100-meter dash (11.42) to help lead the Yeomen to a third-place finish at the Kenyon invite. Tanford also ran a leg on the winning 4x400 relay team that crossed the line in 3:25.93.

D’Anthony Dorsey, Wittenberg
(Winter Haven, FL/Lakeland) 
 

Wittenberg sophomore D’Anthony Dorsey won the shot put (13.91m) and finished second in the hammer throw (44.76m) to lead the Tigers to a second-place finish at the Kenyon Invite.

April 17th

 

Kevin Jones, Ohio Wesleyan
(Delaware, OH/Marengo Highland) 
 

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Kevin Jones earned All-Ohio honors after winning both the 800-meters (1:55.97) and the 1,500-meters (4:04.98) last weekend to help the Bishops to their third-straight All-Ohio team title.

(Whitehall, OH/Whitehall-Yearling)
  

Ohio Wesleyan senior Ifa Abduljelil helped lead the Bishops to their third-straight outdoor All-Ohio team title after a second-place finish in the 110-hurdles (14.62) and a seventh in the 400-meter hurdles (56.01). Abduljelil also ran a leg on the fifth-place 4x400 relay team.

David Carter, Denison

Denison sophomore David Carter turned in a pair of top-seven performances at All-Ohio last weekend. Carter finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 14.21m and seventh in the long jump with a leap of 6.58m.

Ohio Wesleyan senior Stephen Coldren turned in a second-place finish at the Marv Frye Invite in the 800-meters with a time of 1:56.27.

Colin McShane, Ohio Wesleyan
(Columbus, OH/Olentangy)
  

Ohio Wesleyan senior Colin McShane led the Bishops at the Marv Frye Invitational by finishing second in the 200-meters (22.55) and running a leg on the winning 4x400 relay (3:23.22) and second-place 4x100 (42.47) relay. His 200 time is currently the fastest in the NCAC.

Nate Newman, Ohio Wesleyan

Ohio Wesleyan junior Nate Newman won the All-Ohio Outdoor Track & Field decathlon title after totaling 6,436 points last weekend at Muskingum.

April 3rd

 

Grant Sheely, Oberlin
(Dobbs Ferry, NY/Dobbs Ferry) 
 

Oberlin sophomore Grant Sheely turned in a second-place finish at the Wooster Invite in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:45.82. That time is currently the best in the NCAC. 

Tyler Gittins, Wittenberg
(Westerville, OH/Columbus Academy)
  

Wittenberg junior Tyler Gittins led the Tigers to an seventh-place finish at the Centre Invitational. Gittins finished sixth in the 110-hurdles crossing the line in 15.53 and won the 400-hurdles hitting the tape in 54.19. 

David Carter, Denison

Denison sophomore David Carter finished third in the triple jump at the Hilltop Classic with a mark of 13.71 meters. 

March 27th

 

Kevin Jones, Ohio Wesleyan

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Kevin Jones turned in a second-place finish at the Amy Adams Memorial Invite in the 1,500-meters with a time of 4:02.27.

Tyler Gittins, Wittenberg
(Westerville, OH/Columbus Academy) 
 

Wittenberg junior Tyler Gittins led the Tigers to an eight-place finish at the Emory Classic. Gittins finished sixth in the 110-hurdles crossing the line in 15.44 and finished fourth in the 400-hurdles hitting the tape in 54.92. Gittins’ 400-hurdle time is currently 11th among all division III runners. 

Hank Sinn, Oberlin
(Latty, OH/Wayne Trace) 
 

Oberlin sophomore Hank Sinn turned in a second-place finish in the hammer throw with a school record toss of 52.67 meters and finished seventh in the discus throw with a mark of 39.58 meters at the Emory Classic. Sinn also finished 11th in the shot put with a toss of 12.82 meters.

Jackson Feinknopf, Wooster

Wooster sophomore Jackson Feinknopf competed at the unscored Charleston Southern Invite and clocked a 4:12.79 in the 1,500-meter race, which was good for 15th-place. 

Austin Hamlett, Wooster
(Shelbyville, KY/John Glenn (MI))
  

Wooster freshman Austin Hamlett finished 23rd in the 400-meter dash after breaking the tape in 52.54 at the non-scoring Charleston Southern Invite. Hamlett also ran a leg on the 4x400 relay squad that finished sixth in a time of 3:37.03.
