April 30th

 

Grant Sheely, Oberlin
(Dobbs Ferry, NY/Dobbs Ferry) 

Oberlin junior Grant Sheely finished second overall in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Hillsdale College “GINA” Relays with a time of 9:14.17, just one second off of his league-leading time set earlier this spring at the All-Ohio Championships.

 

Chase Wright, DePauw
(Lebanon, IN/Lebanon) 

DePauw junior Chase Wright won both the 100-meters (11.12) and the 200-meters (22.66) on Saturday at the Denison Big Red Invitational.

Nate Newman, Ohio Wesleyan
(Chillicothe, OH/Zane Trace) 

Ohio Wesleyan senior Nate Newman took home the NCAC men’s decathlon title for the second year in a row and the third time in his career last weekend at Oberlin with an NCAC-record score of 6,832 points. 

April 23rd

 

Polo Burguete, DePauw
(El Paso, TX/Culver Academies) 

DePauw senior Polo Burguete won the steeplechase in 9:20.55 which set a Rose-Hulman stadium record and currently ranks 12th in Division III this season. 

Tyler Gittins, Wittenberg
(Westerville, OH/Columbus Academy) 

Wittenberg senior Tyler Gittins turned in an outstanding performance at the Ohio State Jesse Owens classic in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing third with a time of 52.26. The time is currently the third fastest time in all of Division III.

Cade Richeson, Ohio Wesleyan
(Worthington, OH/Thomas Worthington) 

Ohio Wesleyan freshman Cade Richeson won the shot put with a throw of 16.68m and added a third-place finish in the discus throw (45.66m) and a ninth-place finish in the hammer throw (40.48m) to lead the Bishops to a first-place finish at the Baldwin-Wallace Sparky Adams invite.

April 16th

 

John Hughes, Allegheny
(Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) 

Allegheny senior John Hughes led the Gator’s distance contingent on Saturday at the Bucknell Bison Classic. Hughes led Allegheny in the 1,500 meter run, posting a time of 3:53.73. He was the top Division III finisher in the race, while his time currently ranks fourth in NCAA Division III this season. 

RaShawn Jones, Wabash
(Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central) 

Wabash sophomore RaShawn Jones posted two victories in the hurdles for the Little Giants last Saturday at the Indiana DIII Championships. He won the 110-meter hurdles by running a time of 14.58 to tie for the ninth-fastest effort this season in Division III. Jones also won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.28 for the second-quickest time in the NCAC.

PJ Schafer, Wabash
(Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) 

Senior PJ Schafer accounted for 27 points for Wabash at the Indiana Division III Championships by earning four top-four finishes. He won the high jump by clearing 1.93 meters for the second-best effort in the NCAC this season. He place third in the long jump (6.14m) and the triple jump (12.41m) along with a fourth-place finish in the javelin throw (45.85m) for the seventh-best mark in the conference this season.

 

April 9th

 

Darcy Isaiah, Ohio Wesleyan
(Akron, OH/Firestone) 

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Darcy Isaish won the 800-meter run at the non-scored Marv Frye Invitational. Isaiah crossed the line in 1:56.45 which is currently the second fastest in the NCAC. 

Brady Gossett, Wabash
(Indianapolis, IN/Triton Central) 

Wabash junior Brady Gossett posted season-best times to win both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash events at the DePauw Tiger Invitational. He turned in the second-quickest time in the conference by finishing in 11.13 in the 100-meter dash. His winning time of 22.60 is also the second-fastest this season in the conference.

Nate Newman, Ohio Wesleyan
(Chillicothe, OH/Zane Trace) 

Ohio Wesleyan senior Nate Newman won the All-Ohio Outdoor Track & Field decathlon title after totaling 6,262 points last weekend at Muskingum. Newman defeated his nearest competitor by nearly 700 points.

April 2nd

 

Ben Foster, Denison
(Westport, CT/Staples) 

Denison sophomore Ben Foster added a pair of top six finishes at the Carnegie Mellon Quad Meet, placing third in the 1,500-meter run with a PR time of 4:04.60, and sixth in the 800-meter run, also a PR time of 2:00.84. Foster’s 1,500-meter time is currently third best in the NCAC.  

 

RaShawn Jones, Wabash
(Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central) 

Wabash sophomore RaShawn Jones won the 110-meter hurdles at the Wittenberg University Tiger Invitational with a time of 15.10 for the fastest time this season by an NCAC runner this year.

Cade Richeson, Ohio Wesleyan
(Worthington, OH/Thomas Worthington) 

Ohio Wesleyan freshman Cade Richeson turned in the top NCAC mark in a pair of throwing events last weekend at the Cedarville Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Open. Richeson placed third in the shot put with a throw of 15.37 meters and finished fourth in the discus with a mark of 46.50 meters.

March 26th

 

Grant Sheely, Oberlin
(Dobbs Ferry, NY/Dobbs Ferry) 

Oberlin junior Grant Sheely ran a career-best race in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Winthrop University Invite. Sheely clocked in at the 9:23.57 mark to beat the seven person field by 24.38. The time currently sits third on the NCAA Division III top performance list. 

Kyle Farnbauch, Wittenberg
(Hilliard, OH/Davidson) 

Wittenberg junior Kyle Farnbauch earned a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles at the Dr. Jack Toms Alumni Invite, crossing the line in 57.55. Farnbauch also ran a leg on the fourth-place 4x400 meter relay team that crossed the line in 3:30.43.

 

Hank Sinn, Oberlin
(Latty, OH/Wayne Trace) 

Oberlin junior Hank Sinn earned a top-three finish at the Winthrop University Invitational last weekend. Against mainly Division I athletes, the junior thrower placed third in the hammer throw with a heave of 51.90m, which is 11th in the country. With the throw he has the best mark in the conference this year in the event.

 

March 19th

 

Clayton Watters, Denison
(Chapel Hill, NC/East Chapel Hill) 

Denison sophomore Clayton Watters competed at the non-scored Washington & Lee Carnival and clocked a personal-best 33:26.07 in the 10,000-meter race, which was good for ninth-place. 

RaShawn Jones, Wabash
(Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central) 

Wabash sophomore RaShawn Jones posted the lone individual first-place finish for the Little Giants at the Rose-Hulman Early Bird Invite, winning the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.64.

David Carter, Denison
(New Albany, OH/Westminster (CT)) 

Denison junior David Carter led the charge for the Big Red with two victories at the Washington & Lee Carnival meet. Carter won the long jump on Friday with a leap of 6.55m and then placed first in the triple jump on Saturday at 14.16m.
