Ohio Wesleyan senior Lainey Kekic won the NCAC Heptathlon title at last weekend’s NCAC Multi-Event Championships. She scored 3,969 points and met the NCAA Division III qualifying standard in the event.

Cara DeAngelis, Ohio Wesleyan
(Norton, OH/Ellet)


Ohio Wesleyan freshman Cara DeAngelis posted an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time in the 5,000 meters at the Jesse Owens Invitational, at Ohio State. She finished in 17:28.

 

Beth Muller, Allegheny
(Canton, MA/Canton)


Allegheny junior Beth Muller was the top NCAC finisher in both the 100 and 200 meters at Baldwin-Wallace’s Sparky Adams Invitational. Her effort in the 100 prelims (12.50) was the fastest time in the conference this season. She also posted a time of 27.04 in the 200 meters.

 

Lauren Butler, Allegheny
(New Kensington, PA/Kiski Area)


Allegheny sophomore Lauren Butler won the javelin at the Sparky Adams Invitational. Her throw of 138 feet, 1 inch was the best in the NCAC this season, ninth-best in NCAA Division III and met the NCAA Div. III provisional qualifying standard.

April 18th

Joanna Johnson, Oberlin
(Chico, CA/Chico)


Oberlin senior Joanna Johnson won the 10,000 meters at the All-Ohio Championships with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 35:40.29.

 

Kari Domiano, Wittenberg
(Dublin, OH/Jerome)


Wittenberg junior Kari Domiano finished second in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes at the All-Ohio Championships.

 

WOO -Abena

Abena Boaham-Acheampong, Wooster
(Reynoldsbug, OH/Pickerington Central)


Wooster sophomore Abena Boaham-Acheampong won the high jump at the All-Ohio Championships with a leap of 5 feet, 1.75 inches.

April 11th

Cara DeAngelis, Ohio Wesleyan
(Norton, OH/Ellet)


Ohio Wesleyan freshman Cara DeAngelis won the 1500 meters over a field of 41 runners at the Marv Frye Invitational. Her time of 4:40.79 established a school record.

 

KEN - DeLeon

Sierra DeLeon, Kenyon
(Upper Marlboro, MD/Maret School)


Kenyon freshman Sierra DeLeon won the 100-meter hurdles at the Marv Frye Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan. Her time of 14.84 was an NCAA provisional qualifying time. She also placed second in the 200 meters (25.89) and was part of the fifth-place 4x100 relay.

 

OWU - Bechtel

Sarah Bechtel, Ohio Wesleyan
(Bellefontaine, OH/Bellefontaine)


Ohio Wesleyan freshman Sarah Bechtel finished second in the pole vault at the Marv Frye Invitational. She cleared 10 feet, 11.75 inches to break her own school record.

April 4th

Kat Zimmerly, Ohio Wesleyan
(Edinboro, PA/General McLane)


Ohio Wesleyan senior Kat Zimmerly placed eighth overall and first among NCAA Division III competitors in the steeplechase at Princeton’s Sam Howell Memorial Invitational. Her time of 11:00.56 met the NCAA provisional qualifying standard.

 

Kari Domiano, Wittenberg

Wittenberg junior Kari Domiano placed second in the 100 (12.92), 200 (26.64), and 400 (60.32), and was part of the first-place 4x100 relay at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational.

 

OBE - Owens

Jasmine Owens, Oberlin
(Thurman, OH/Ohio Valley Christian)


Oberlin sophomore Jasmine Owens was sixth in the long jump at the Washington Invitational. Her leap of 5.05 meters/16 feet, 7 inches, is the best in the NCAC this season.

Shannon Kelleher, Wittenberg

Wittenberg freshman Shannon Kelleher finished third in the 5,000 meters at the Yellow Jacket Open. She finished the race in a time of 19:12.26.

Wittenberg junior Kari Domiano placed second in both the 100 meters (13.24) and 200 meters (27.02) at the Yellow Jacket Open.

Hannah Benzing, Ohio Wesleyan

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Hannah Benzing met the NCAA Division III qualifying standard in the discus at the Muskingum Duals. She won the event with a throw of 138-4, and was second in the hammer.
