Allegheny senior S.J. Guillaume had a strong showing at the Hillsdale College Gina relays as she finished sixth out of 100 runners and first among Div. III runners in the 5k with a career-best time of 17:15.45.

Ohio Wesleyan junior Emily Brown won the 2017 NCAC women’s heptathlon title after totaling 4,229 points to finish first out of nine competitors in the event.

Madeleine Weiland, Oberlin

Oberlin sophomore Madeleine Weiland won the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Kenyon Invite, crossing the line in 11:43.45 to led the Yeowomen to the team title. 

Akwia Tilton, Wooster
(Southfield, MI/Roeper School) 
 

Wooster freshman Akwia Tilton won both the 100 and 200-meter dashes, crossing the line in 12.72 and 26.35, respectively, at the Kenyon Invite. Tilton also ran a leg on the second-place 4x400 relay team (4:09.43) to help the Scots to an overall second-place team finish. 

Arlesha Cospy, Denison

Denison junior Arlesha Cospy turned in three top-four finishes in the throwing events at the Kenyon Invite last Saturday. Cospy finished second in both the shot put (11.61m) and the discus throw (43.53) and earned fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 41.03 meters.

Sarah Fowler, Ohio Wesleyan
(Mount Vernon, OH/Fredericktown) 
 

Ohio Wesleyan senior Sarah Fowler earned All-Ohio honors after winning the 5,000-meters in 18:04.76 to lead the Bishops to their All-Ohio team title. 

Ajai Brooks, Denison
(Washington, DC/Washington Latin Public Charter School)
  

Denison sophomore Ajai Brooks broke the All-Ohio record in the 100-meter dash (11.74) and won a second event by crossing the line in the 200-meters in 25.22 to earn All-Ohio honors. 

Amanda Clay, Ohio Wesleyan
(Van Wert, OH/Brookstone) 
 

Ohio Wesleyan junior Amanda Clay won the long jump with a leap of 5.74 meters to earn All-Ohio honors and help lead the Bishops to their second-straight All-Ohio Title.

April 10th

 

Alexis Gray, Wittenberg
(Washington Courthouse, OH/Washington Courthouse) 

Wittenberg freshman Alexis Gray topped the field in the 800-meter run at the Muskie Invite with a time of 2:19.47. The time was a new meet record. 

Jonah Edwards, Kenyon
(Charlotte, NC/Providence Day)
  

Kenyon junior Jonah Edwards turned in a pair top-five finishes for the Ladies at the Marv Frye Invitational, finishing second in the 200-meters (26.48) and fifth in the 100-meters (12.61). 

Naeisha McClain, Oberlin
(Columbus, GA/Brookstone)  

Oberlin freshman Naeisha McClain recorded a first-place finish in the shot put at the Bob Kahn Invite with a mark of 14.00 meters. McClain also placed fourth in the hammer throw (42.83m) and sixth in the discus (31.50m). McClain’s mark in the shot put is currently the second-best in the nation.  

April 3rd

Allegheny senior S.J. Guillaume topped the 33-runner field in the 5,000-meter run at the Centre Invitational with a time of 17:28.48. The time currently ranks 15th in NCAA Division III. 

Ajai Brooks, Denison
(Washington, DC/Washington Latin Public Charter School)
  

Denison sophomore Ajai Brooks  was a double-winner to help lead the Big Red to a fifth-place finish at the Hilltop Classic. Brooks won the 100-and 200-meter dashes in 11.93 and 25.15, respectively. Brooks’ 100 time is currently ranked second in NCAA Division III. 

Jasmine Keegan, Oberlin
(Maplewood, NJ/Columbia HS) 
 

Oberlin freshman Jasmine Keegan turned in an impressive performance at the Wooster invite last weekend with three top 10 finishes. Keegan won the discus throw (41.41m), finished fourth in the shot put (11.57m) and was seventh in the long jump with a mark of 4.54 meters. Keegan also finished 11th in the hammer throw with a toss of 38.12 meters. 

March 27th

 

Shannon Wargo, Oberlin

Oberlin freshman Shannon Wargo turned in a fifth-place finish in the 1,500-meters at the Emory Classic by crossing the line in 4:51.51. Wargo helped lead the Yeowomen to a fourth-place team finish overall.

Lilah Drafts-Johnson, Oberlin
(Melrose, MA/Melrose)
  

Oberlin junior Lilah Drafts-Johnson recorded three top-ten performances at the Emory Invite last weekend. Draft-Johnson finished second in the 400-meter hurdles (1:02.63), third in the 400-meters (56.23) and eighth in the 200-meter dash (25.79).

Monique Newton, Oberlin
(Sacramento, CA/Rancho Cordova) 
 

Oberlin junior Monique Newton registered three top-three performances at the Emory Classic meet  last weekend. Newton was second in the hammer throw (52.38m), second in the discus throw (45.24m) and third in the shot put (13.88m).

Natalie Gruszka, DePauw
(Valparaiso, IN/Valparaiso)
  

DePauw freshman Natalie Gruszka help lead the Tigers to a third-place finish at the Rose-Hulman Early Bird Invite after earning a pair of first-place finished. Gruszka won the 800-meters in a time of 2:23.47 and then took home the title in the 1,500-meters, crossing the line in 5:01.31.

Carolyn Webster, Wooster
(Fredericktown, OH/Fredericktown) 
 

Wooster sophomore Carolyn Webster turned in a second-place finish in the high-jump at the non-scoring Charleston Southern Invite after clearing 1.60 meters. Webster also finished 18th in the long jump with a leap of 4.78 meters.
