April 30th

Rachel Bush, Ohio Wesleyan
(Mt. Gilead, OH/Mt. Gilead) 

Ohio Wesleyan junior Rachel Bush won the 800-meter run at the DU Big Red Invitational with the third-fastest time in the NCAC this season at 2:19.85. 

Akwia Tilton, Wooster
(Southfield, MI/Roeper) 

Wooster sophomore Akwia Tilton turned in a pair of top-two finishes on the track at the DU Big Red Invitational, winning the 200-meters in 26.58 and finishing second overall in the 100 with a time of 13.13 seconds. 

 

Emily Brown, Ohio Wesleyan
(New Concord, OH/John Glenn) 

Ohio Wesleyan senior Emily Brown won the NCAC women’s heptathlon title for the second year in a row after accumulating 4,235 total points last weekend at Oberlin.

April 23rd

 

Grace Moses, Kenyon
(Great Falls, VA/Potomac School) 

Kenyon sophomore Grace Moses earned one of the Ladies’ five event victories with her performance in the 1,500 meter run at the Kenyon Spring Invite. Moses crossed the line in 4:47.46.

Lilah Drafts-Johnson, Oberlin
(Melrose, MA/Melrose) 

Oberlin senior Lilah Drafts-Johnson became the only female in Division III this season to run a sub-60 in the 400-meters as she finished second in the event at the Ohio State University Jesse Owens Track Classic with a nation-leading time of 59.84. 

Jasmine Keegan, Oberlin
(Maplewood, NJ/Columbia) 

Oberlin sophomore Jasmine Keegan turned in an impressive performance at the Kenyon Spring Invite last weekend with three victories accounting for 30 points. Keegan won the shot put (12.22m), the discus throw (40.53m) and the hammer throw with a toss of 44.46 meters.

April 16th

 

Emily Forner, Allegheny
(Beaver, PA/Beaver Area) 

Allegheny junior Emily Forner placed ninth in a field of 69 in the 5,000 - and second among Division III participants - with a time of 16:54.73 at the Bucknell Bison Classic. It marked the second-fastest time in program history, while it currently ranks ninth best in NCAA Division III this season.

Lilah Drafts-Johnson, Oberlin
(Melrose, MA/Melrose) 

Oberlin senior Lilah Drafts-Johnson accounted for 28 of the 124-team points for the Yeowomen in the first-place finish at the All-Ohio Championships. Drafts-Johnson’s won the 200-meters with a finish of 24.94 seconds. Drafts-Johnson also won the 400-meter (56.25) and was part of the 4x100-meter relay team (49.43) that finished second. On the Division III performance list, her time in the 400 ranks sixth and she sits in eighth in the 200. 

 

Monique Newton, Oberlin
(Sacramento, CA/Rancho Cordova) 

Oberlin senior Monique Newton won the discus and shot put events in the teams first-place finish at the All-Ohio Championships. Newton ripped off a throw of 47.08 meters in the discus, which puts her on top of the Division III performance list. She followed that up with a heave of 14.46 meters in the shot put to mover her to second in the country. 

 

April 9th

 

Rachel Bush, Ohio Wesleyan
(Mount Gilead, OH/Mount Gilead) 

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Rachel Bush won the 800-meter run at the non-scored Marv Frye Invitational. Bush crossed the line in 2:22.26 which is currently the third fastest in the NCAC.

Lilah Drafts-Johnson, Oberlin
(Melrose, MA/Melrose) 

Oberlin senior Lilah Drafts-Johnson won the 400-meter hurdles (1:01.80) and was the anchor in the 4x400-meter relay team (4:04.96) that crossed the finish line first on Senior Day. Drafts-Johnson also earned a second place finish as part of the 4x100-meter relay team with a time of 50.53. 

Grace Finney, Oberlin
(Grand Forks, ND/Grand Forks Central) 

Oberlin sophomore Grace Finney set a new standard in the women’s pole vault for Oberlin at the Bob Kahn Invitational. The vaulter set a school record in the event as she cleared 3.66 meters on Saturday. The mark is the best in the conference and ranks eighth in the nation. 

April 2nd

 

Oona Jung-Beeman, Oberlin
(Wilmette, IL/New Trier) 

Oberlin sophomore Oona Jung-Beeman earned a first-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Wooster Invitational last weekend. In the lone event she competed in, she crossed the finish line in 11:15.16 to beat the 14-person field. Her time is the second-best in the conference and 13th on the Division III performance list. 

Ryelee Clary, Wittenberg
(Bellefontaine, OH/Bellefontaine High School) 

Wittenberg freshman Ryelee Clary captured an event win in the 110-meter hurdles, breaking the tape in 15.30 at Coach Rob Invitational. Clary’s time is currently the fastest in the NCAC. 

Arlesha Cospy, Denison
(Trotwood, OH/Trotwood-Madison) 

Denison senior Arlesha Cospy turned in a pair of first-place finishes and added a second-place finish in the throwing events at the Carnegie Mellon Quad Meet last Saturday. Cospy won the shot put with a toss of 11.35m, the discus throw with a mark of 36.62m and was runner-up in the hammer after with a throw of 43.00m.

March 26th

 

Olivia Mamula, Allegheny
(Cambridge Springs, PA/Cambridge Springs) 

Allegheny senior Olivia Mamula topped a 23-runner field in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a winning time of 10:59.09, 21 seconds ahead of the second place finisher at the Emory Invitational. It marked a career best for Mamula, while it was the second fastest time in the event in program history, and currently stands as the second best mark in Division III this season. 

Lilah Drafts-Johnson, Oberlin
(Melrose, MA/Melrose) 

Oberlin senior Lilah Drafts-Johnson highlighted the day for the Yeowomen at the two-day NCAA Division I meet at Winthrop University. Drafts-Johnson kicked off her senior campaign with a second-place finish in the 400 hurdles (1:01.23) and third-place finish in the 400-meter (57.41). Her individual times rank amongst the best in Division III as she owns the best time in the hurdling event and sits in fifth in the 400-meter. Drafts-Johnson also was a member of the 4x400-meter team that crossed the line fourth (4:01.71) and ranks fifth in the nation. 

Naeisha McClain, Oberlin
(Columbus, GA/Brookstone) 

Oberlin sophomore Naeisha McClain had a strong performance against Division I opponents in the shot put at the Winthrop University Invitational. McClain placed sixth overall with a toss of 13.33 meters. Her mark in the event currently ranks third and is the best throw in the NCAC thus far. 

March 19th

 

Anna Fash, Denison
(Wooster, OH/Wooster) 

Denison junior Anna Fash posted a new personal-best time in the 10,000-Meter Run on Friday at the Washington & Lee Carnival meet, logging a 2nd-place finish with a time of 38:21.78. 

Akwia Tilton, Wooster
(Southfield, MI/Roeper School) 

Wooster sophomore Akwia Tilton delivered a series of strong performances to lead the way among the Scots’ sprinters at the non-scored Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, finishing 36th in the 100-meter dash (12.80) and 38th in the 200-meter dash (26.44). 

Arlesha Cospy, Denison
(Trotwood, OH/Trotwood-Madison) 

Denison senior Arlesha Cospy turned in a pair of first-place finishes in the throwing events at the Washington & Lee Carnival meet last Saturday. Cospy won the shot put with a toss of 11.64m and won the discus with a mark of 42.74m.
