The DePauw women's basketball team advanced to its second straight NCAA Sectional Final and sixth in the last 13 years after defeating Carthage, 73-54, Friday night in front of a home crowd at Neal Fieldhouse. Trailing 22-19 with just over six minutes left in the half, senior Alex Gasaway (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) scored nine of her 18 points during a 16-4 run to give DePauw a 35-26 lead at the break. Gasaway finished the game with five rebounds and two blocks to go along with her 18 points while junior Savannah Trees (Libertyville, IL/Libertyville) scored 14 of her game-high 20 in the second-half. The Tigers will now take a 30-1 record into Saturday's sectional final round of the national tournament where they will take on Wisconsin-Whitewater (25-5) in a rematch of last years National Championship game.
