After starting the season, 1-2, Kenyon (6-3, 2-0) has won five of its last six games including three straight and sits atop the league standings with a perfect conference record after defeating Allegheny, 78-63, last week. This week features a light schedule of non-conference contests with two games each on Wednesday and Friday.

ALLEGHENY dropped its lone contest of the week, 78-63, to Kenyon on Tuesday, falling to 6-3 on the year, 1-1 in North Coast play. Sophomore Emma Pellicano (Pittsburgh, PA/Mount Lebanon) led the Gators with 14 points, shooting 6-of-10 from the floor while hitting a pair of three-pointers.  Pellicano also added six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal. Fellow second year Makenzie Zidek (Leechburg, PA/Kiski) tallied a team-high three buckets from behind the arc, finishing with 11 points.

In its lone contest of the week, DENISON grinded out a 49-36 victory at NCAC rival Wittenberg on Saturday.  Junior guard Candise Love (San Diego, CA/Vista Murrieta) led all scorers with 14 points after going 6-for-12 from the field, including a 2-for-2 night from three-point range. Love also grabbed four rebounds and dished out three assists. Freshman Jordan Holmes (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) recorded her eighth double-double of the season  after logging 10 points and pulling down a game-high 16 rebounds in 37 minutes. Holmes also recorded six blocks, running her season total to 59 through 10 games.

Top-ranked DEPAUW extended its win streak to 42 straight and 61 consecutive regular season victories with the 26-point win at Spalding. Abby Keller (Glenview, IL/Glenbrook South) came off the bench to match her career high with 14 points in 15 minutes. Her previous career high came in the Tigers’ last game at Wooster.

HIRAM picked up three double-digit victories last week in non-conference action, knocking off Bethany, 73-60, PSU-Behrend, 55-40 and Thiel, 71-58. It marks the first three-game win streak for the Terriers since the 2011-12 season when Hiram rallied off four wins in a row. Freshman forward Brianne Goodrich (Chesterland, OH/West Geauga) recorded her first career double-double in the win over Bethany and paced the Terriers on the week by averaging 14.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest.

KENYON ran its NCAC record to 2-0 and its overall record to 6-3 with a 78-63 home win over Allegheny on Tuesday night. Senior guard Maggie Boelter (Vienna, WV/Parkersburg Catholic) went 4-of-7 from three-point range, scored a career-high 23 points, and also dished out seven assists against the Gators.

OBERLIN was idle last week.

Senior wing Julia Grimsley (Alliance, OH/Alliance) went 5-for-5 from three-point range as OHIO WESLEYAN built a 10-point first-half lead, but Ohio Northern rallied in the second-half and withstood a Bishop comeback to take a non-conference win. Grimsley led the Bishops with 15 points, while junior post Kristin Henning (Beavercreek, OH/Beavercreek) added 10 points. Henning and junior guard Sarah McQuade (Dublin, OH/Coffman) shared the team lead with six rebounds, and McQuade had a team-high four assists.

WITTENBERG dropped a 49-36 decision versus Denison on Saturday despite 13 points and eight rebounds from senior guard Amber Rice (South Charleston, OH/Southeastern) and nine points and seven boards from junior Heather Schroeder (Aurora, OH/Aurora).

WOOSTER was idle last week.
