Two NCAC women's basketball players were named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for games played between January 12-18.
Oberlin senior forward Christina Marquette (Huntington Beach, CA/Edison) collected the honor after scoring 61 combined points in a pair of league games last week. She scored a season-high 33 in the Yeowomen's 89-67 victory over Wooster on January 14th, before dropping another 28 in a 71-61 loss against Wittenberg on January 17th. In the two games combined, Marquette shot 48 percent (21-of-44) from the field and a perfect 16-of-16 from the free throw line, while also accumulating 10 rebounds (5.0 rpg), nine assists (4.5 apg) and two blocked shots.
Denison sophomore post Jordan Holmes (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) was selected to the team after she scored a career-high 32 points and added 21 rebounds and seven blocked shots in the Big Red's 68-65 win over Allegheny on Saturday. Holmes, who also accumulated 13 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks in a 61-52 loss against Kenyon on Wednesday, finished the week with 45 points (22.5 ppg), 33 rebounds (16.5 rpg) and 13 blocks (6.5), whgile also shooting 73 percent (19-of-26) from the field and 54 percent (7-of-13) from the free throw line.
