Denison junior post Jordan Holmes (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) added to her list of accolades this year with a third-team selection on the Division III Women's Basketball Academic All-America Team, it was announced on Tuesday (3/1) by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Holmes, a psychology major with a minor in women's and gender studies, is the NCAC's career leader in blocked shots and rebounds. She is averaging 16.0 points, 17.9 rebounds, 6.1 blocks, and 1.7 steals per game this season. Holmes has also been named NCAC Player of the Week on five different occasions and was the United States Basketball Writers Association National Player of the Week on Jan. 5.
Holmes has dominated NCAC competition this year, as she is the conference leader in rebounds per game (17.9 rpg), field goal percentage (.683), and total blocks (165). She also ranks among conference leaders in points per game (16.0 ppg – fourth) and total steals (47 – T-6th).
