As a number of NCAC teams took the week off to focus on final exams, just a handful of non-conference games highlighted a light schedule in the conference. There just two games scheduled this week including, Kenyon (0-2, 5-4) and Ohio Wesleyan (0-2, 0-7) battling on Tuesday with each team looking for its first conference victory.  League squads will return to non-conference action after the holiday break with numerous teams either hosting or traveling to holiday tournaments, while a full schedule of conference action picks back up on January 2nd and 3rd. 

HIRAM went into the holiday break on a winning note, defeating Franciscan 56-44 on Monday. Three Terriers scored in double figures, led by sophomore Mercedes Jones (Dayton, OH/Ponitz Career Technology Center) with a team-high 13 points in the victory. Sophomore Kaylee Shockley (Uniontown, OH/Lake) added 12 points and eight rebounds, while sophomore Allison Vannoy (Mantua, OH/Crestwood) tallied 11 points. The seven wins matches last season’s win output for Hiram.

KENYON lost its third-straight game after falling at Case on December 19 in Cleveland. During the recent skid, the Ladies have struggled at the foul line (40.5%) and from the field (34%).

WOOSTER opened a three-game non-conference swing with a 95-64 loss to undefeated Bluffton on Friday. Bluffton led for most of the contest, but Wooster had an impressive run in the third period to cut its deficit to 13 at 63-50, thanks to six straight points from first-year Shar Hankerson (Atlanta, GA/Therrell Law) and a 3-pointer by sophomore Aki Shurelds (South San Francisco, CA/Lick-Wilmerding).

ALLEGHENY, DENISONDEPAUWOBERLINOHIO WESLEYAN and WITTENBERG were idle last week.
