CLEVELAND, Ohio – The North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) was represented by Kenyon’s Paige Matijasich (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington) and DePauw’s Sydney Kopp (Burr Ridge, Ill./Hinsdale South) as honorees of the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District Women’s Basketball team.
To be eligible for consideration, student-athletes must be in at least their sophomore season, possess legitimate athletic qualifications and own a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better.
Matijasich finished 2018-19 with a career-best 15.5 scoring average, including six 20-point performances. She tallied double-figures in all 25 contests, becoming the first Ladies' player to do so with archived stats dating back to the 2000-01 campaign.
Academically, Matijasich is pursuing a degree in Chemistry and owns a cumulative GPA of 3.85 in her junior season.
To date, Kopp leads DePauw in scoring, averaging 15.9 points per game. She’s knocked down 63 three-pointers in her junior campaign, the second-most in the conference. She’s also only one of three players, that qualify, to average 40 percent or better from behind the arc.
Academically, Kopp is pursuing a degree in Political Science and owns a cumulative GPA of 3.72 in her junior season.
As part of the All-District First-Team, Matijasich and Kopp advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Ballot, released in mid-March.
